Arama Exclusive Exposé: Rookie Korean musical group, AFTERSCHOOL, have come under fire by concerned netizens after claims of selling out their first Japanese live performance in 60 seconds.
Pledis, the girl group's Seoul-based label, has announced that their Akasaka Blitz show has been a hot topic with 50,000 applicants, filtering press releases throughout the media. However, many remain unimpressed by the claims.
Public reaction has been extremely critical. "Really? April Fools Day was a long time ago," said one skeptic.
Others are claiming foul play by Koreans: "The only people who bought these tickets were Korean immigrants," said another. "Only Koreans in Japan applied. There is no way 50,000 Japanese people did."
Depsite the claims that 50,000 people attempted to purchase tickets for the show, After School's own fanclub numbers are only 20,127.

Former member Bekah (center) who was rumored to be pushed out of the group to be replaced with a Japanese member who better fits the group's image.
The venue itself has proven to be another cause for suspicion concerning AFTERSCHOOL's popularity. The troubled venue has had problems in the past, being put up for demolition and closed for five years. It remains questionable why the group could not secure usual venues used by other K-Pop groups, such as Shibuya-AX (T-ara, 4minute) or Nakano Plaza (SHINee). Shojojidai has also been selling out arenas throughout Japan lately.
