Johnny & Associates' Response to Morimoto's Incident

On June 28th, Johnny & Associates announced their official message on their homepage regarding the incident with the youngest Hey! Say! JUMP member, Morimoto Ryutarou (16).

Although the agency did not report Morimoto’s name or the validity of his actions, they posted a formal apology to the fans by stating, “We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience and the worry we have caused.”

As a response, the agency added three more dates for Hey! Say! JUMP’s entertainment show, ‘SUMMARY 2011’, with one Osaka Dome performance (September 18th) and two Tokyo Dome performances (24th and 25th). This show was originally scheduled to occur from August 7th to September 11th.

In response to Morimoto’s indefinite suspension, his appearance may be omitted from various pre-recorded shows. For example, it has been revealed that his appearance on Hey! Say! JUMP’s regular show, “Yan Yan JUMP”, has been deleted from the recorded footage.

Johnny & Associates commented on their actions, stating, “We will air the episode after replacing all the cutout scenes with other members of the group.”

It is still undecided if his appearances in TV programs such as “HEY! HEY! HEY!” and new CMs such as the ones for Lotte will be omitted, but it is currently under review.

With this, the rest of the members of Hey! Say! JUMP pledged that, “We will do our very best so please do continue to support us from now on.”

FYI. the Dome concerts were announced to fan club members a day (or 2) prior to the scandal, so it was actually NOT in response to the incident. But I'm happy it's pushing through.

I hope he comes back soon, that way Hey!Say!JUMP can be whole once again ^^
chesutoberry 29th-Jun-2011 04:32 am (UTC)
i don 't know him but poor kid..
twilightstarz28 29th-Jun-2011 04:35 am (UTC)
=_= why can't they just air it with him in it!?
dammit.... i want him back now!
chizzyrei 29th-Jun-2011 04:38 am (UTC)
well when they cut off someone, they're serious in cutting him off,
let's see if the Hey Hey Hey recording pushes through.
fatimaa_xo 29th-Jun-2011 04:37 am (UTC)

damnn, its like uchi and kusano from NEWS all over again. but except ryutaro is much younger.

swimmer_chen 29th-Jun-2011 05:22 am (UTC)
i KNOW! I seriously don't know what to say.

bwfas 29th-Jun-2011 04:41 am (UTC)
I said this before, it's not like I want sth bad for HSJ, but isn't it unfair compared to NEWS a change that HSJ activities aren't affected at all~
chizzyrei 29th-Jun-2011 04:44 am (UTC)
it totally went overblown with NEWS. having 2 members kicked out after another is something really harsh and the media was all over it. that time i think a hiatus is needed.
visionfactory1 29th-Jun-2011 04:44 am (UTC)
He doesn't deserve to be in HSJ at all, I don't wish him to get fired but please don't return to HSJ.
redblood619 29th-Jun-2011 04:47 am (UTC)
That. Is just selfish. I wouldn't even imagine hearing "HEY SAY JUMP 9 MEMBER GROUP"
twilightstarz28 29th-Jun-2011 04:47 am (UTC)
damn, hater(s) stop hating, everyone makes mistakes. and he's still young! :P
he IS part of HSJ and will always be!
lovedaworld 29th-Jun-2011 05:31 am (UTC)
we're not being haters, just realistic. everybody makes mistakes and therefore there are consequences. he's young so hopefully he'll clean up his act and do better with his life now.
redblood619 29th-Jun-2011 04:50 am (UTC)
I have been sulking over this ever since it came out.
Just bring ryutaro back. Don't kick him out ;__;
2hothere 29th-Jun-2011 04:58 am (UTC)

*sighs* here comes the heart-ache of groups losing member again...
NEWS/Kanjani8/KAT-TUN and now HSJ...please, don't hate on him..everyone makes mistakes...nobody is perfect..and he's only 16..I feel sorry for his fans.:(
sakana93 29th-Jun-2011 04:58 am (UTC)
A lot of people here are saying things like: he deserved to be punished, he wont come back,etc...
I know its plainly his mistake and he has to face the consequence but please stop saying mean things like that. Imagine its your own idol group and you will see how much us HSJ fan are suffering. Its not just about him,but also about the rest of JUMP and the fans
A lot of their fans has been crying out of their hearts
bwfas 29th-Jun-2011 05:01 am (UTC)
Hey dear *hug*
lovedaworld 29th-Jun-2011 05:25 am (UTC)
Poor Shintaro who has to talk like he doesn't have a brother for the next 5 years

crap, I forgot about how he has to fake not having a brother..... whatever, he wanted yuma as a bro instead :') Yuma, join the HSJ family!!!
kazunika 29th-Jun-2011 05:05 am (UTC)
i dunno..its just a very sad day for me.
i wonder what the other members thinking n doing right now?
crying their heart out? or been forced to not even talk about ryutaro!
xkimchi_ninja 29th-Jun-2011 05:07 am (UTC)
They should just replace him with Yuma :)
shonen_key 29th-Jun-2011 05:16 am (UTC)
lol I feel like whenever a JE member caused a scandal, they'll be wiped out from the face of the Earth.

[well, maybe not just JE members.. *remembers Daichi and Alex scandal*]
swimmer_chen 29th-Jun-2011 05:38 am (UTC)
that's so not true. only one example supports that statement you just made.
lovedaworld 29th-Jun-2011 05:19 am (UTC)
Why can't we just accept Ryutaro is gone? This is not the first time a situation like this happened. I know you're in pain but look at the brighter side. Now the rest of the 9 will know to watch what they do and hopefully be SMARTER and not get their butts kicked out. Don't just think of the pain Ryutaro is in, what about the other 9? Be a true fan and support HSJ no matter what.

Ryutaro, good luck in life. Please start being smart and work on getting a real career.
visionfactory1 29th-Jun-2011 05:43 am (UTC)
Lots of Chinen lovers here, just wanted to post something with a Yamada pic so we get some balance :)
chizzyrei 29th-Jun-2011 05:54 am (UTC)
he always gets the bigger share.
Yamada, please be extra super careful. I seriously won't be able to take it if you're suddenly gone from HSJ.

i just hope that Ryuutaro will realize what he's done, be smart and continue to a better path. I mean, since the chances of him being back in HSJ are so fucking slim, why not just quit Johnny's and lead a better life?!

Seriously?! Okay let's say he apologizes to Johnny, gets off the suspension and ends up a trainee. That's great, Johnny's giving him another chance. But seriously?! Since 2006 until now, how far has Uchi gone?! Not very far. So even if Ryuutaro gets to be a trainee, chances are, he also won't be anywhere 5 years from now. It doesn't matter that he's younger when his scandal happened. He was involved in a scandal and the consequences should be similar, if not the same.

While, if he just quit Johnny's, he could be an almost-normal student, go to college or not and maybe get a job that pays far better that what he'll ever get from being a pretty boy in the years to come. He was never in the spotlight either, so what makes people think he'll be better off as a trainee, earning a salary that's a lot worse than when he was in HSJ?

Not trying to be offensive or anything, but fans really need to suck it up and accept the reality. Sure, you can wait until further news come out, but is it reasonable to be blinded from reality and then have your heart stop beating from negative news?!

I sympathize for the boy, but I'm not one bit pitiful of him.
swimmer_chen 29th-Jun-2011 05:55 am (UTC)
I forgot to say, if he really does quit Johnny's (trying to be realistic here).. at first the challenges will undoubtfully be harsh, but that's another obstacle he needs to overcome. He should've thought twice or three or more times about getting his picture taken while holding a cigarette at the time.

I will be proud to have been a fan of him if he becomes a better man from this experience.

Boi is in danger gurl

I dunno why people are acting like the consequences = brand new information

lovedaworld 29th-Jun-2011 06:02 am (UTC)
Everybody, let's go back to staring at Yamada!! b/c honestly, how many of you care about him before this happened?
koshifuri 29th-Jun-2011 06:21 am (UTC)
Okay, opening the damn can of worms.

JUMP fans, can we please just grow up? When we say he deserved the suspension it's because he god damned deserved it. He was never some innocent little angel, and knew the hell better. The problem was, like most kids his age, he assumed it would never happen to him, that he was better than his senpai that got into scandals. Obviously, this has been disproved.

He does, however, deserve the support being sent his way and I have nothing against that. Just keep it realistic, okay?

(And before anyone jumps me - yes. I know how it feels to lose a member of my group to a scandal. It seriously hurts. I never wanted to feel that pain again, but.. there's only so much. You need to keep your head about it when it happens.)

JE fans, grow up? Yeah right. If they grew up they wouldn't be JE fans anymore.

The way I see it is that he doesn't appreciate the opportunity that was given to him. If he's smoking because of stress, maybe a hiatus from the grp might be the better solution.
bwfas 29th-Jun-2011 06:30 am (UTC)
Not a HSJ fan, but I don't get the "go back to reality etc" cmts. Most of the HSJ fans I know don't expect Ryuu to be back, or say that the punishment is to harsh for Ryuu/anything along that line. But his fans are sad, that can't be helped. Well I forgot emotional fangirls shouldn't come to arama xD

I'm not sure if they are for real, or sarcasm, or whatever, but the Yamada posts are pretty... lame? stupid? KY? it's-not-as-cool-as-you-think? Well I know HSJ is imbalanced and all and their fandom is considered the most annoying, though I myself don't know if it's true, but I must admit I'm somehow surprised.
lovedaworld 29th-Jun-2011 06:37 am (UTC)
Most of the HSJ fans I know don't expect Ryuu to be back
Where have you been? My tumblr/twitter has been spammed with them expecting him to come back. There's even the rumor that he'll be back in 5 months. I'm ok with fans being sad but there's a limit. Stop begging ex-Johnny's to get him back in.
sadistic_dance 29th-Jun-2011 07:07 am (UTC)
This post is far too serious. He was smoking not running an underage prostitution ring I mean really.
chizzyrei 29th-Jun-2011 07:09 am (UTC)
not really abt the smoking.
its the consequence that is serious, him getting kicked out. can't expect fangirls to take it easy.
