On August 14, Girls' Generation will take the same stage as popular rock bands like Red Hot Chili Peppers and X JAPAN. They will be making a special guest appearance after Canadian pop/rock singer Avril Lavigne's performance.
This will be the first time Girls' Generation has participated in a summer event like this. What makes it even more unique is that they will be the first Female Korean group to appear at Summer Sonic. The nine members commented, "We are all really excited for this event because tons of great musicians from around the world will be participating."
Also announced was Korean singer BoA, who will be celebrating 10 years in the Japanese music industry this year.
BoA tweeted:
I'll be performing at summer sonic 2011 mountain stage on august 13.
The Summer Sonic Fest is an annual two or three day event in which two different rock festivals are held at the same time. Most of the bands playing in Tokyo will go to Osaka on the second day and vice versa. The festival offers music from major, indie, and international artists along with food and attractions.
