Hey! Say! Jump to Sing 'Smurf' Movie Theme Song

Popular JE group Hey! Say! JUMP has been chosen to sing the theme song for the upcoming 3D fantasy movie "Smurf" featuring members Yamada Ryosuke and Chinen Yuri as part of the main cast.

They will present the single, called "Magic Power" during the same month as the movie opening in September. Alongside the cute music, they will voice the message "No matter how small, as long as we work together we can do anything!" with the lyrics "There's no such thing as impossible! We will work together!", "(If we are) together, we can be happy." The theme was written based on Yamada, first time voice actor, and Chinen who will be playing the main characters of the movie Clumsy and Brainy.

This enjoyable song, which voices the mysterious strength that is born from the bonds between friends, is very Hey! Say! JUMP!-like; the song is stuffed with both the friendships between HSJ and the characters in the movie alike. Yamada and Chinen, whose voices enable the Smurfs to come alive, will also take the adventure to a whole new level.

The movie "Smurf" is based on the original cartoon by Belgium cartoonist Pierre Culliford (nicknamed Peyo) in 1985 and is about small fairies, the Smurfs, and by combining the original cartoon with the new animation techniques, the movie will come to theaters as a "Hybrid 3D" movie. The Smurfs, who were chased out of their village by evil witch Gargamel, were engulfed into a hole that leads them to New York, where the adventure begins.

The move "Smurf" will be in theaters across the country starting September 9th.
