Actress Miyazaki Aoi (26) and actor Takaoka Sosuke (29) have been married for over four years, but after several small and big crises, it seems like the bond has been broken for good.
According to tabloid ‘Shukan Josei‘, the two of them have agreed to file for divorce and already signed and sealed the official divorce papers. They expect that it will only be a matter of days until their divorce becomes finalized. Newspaper ‘Sankei Sports‘, who quoted the tabloid, also reached out to sources close to the two actors and apparently were able to confirm that they are indeed in the final stage of completing their divorce.
Rumors about a possible break-up became the norm throughout the four years of their marriage. Takaoka already earned himself a couple of tabloid headlines, often related to his supposed infidelity and sometimes violent nature. Miyazaki always tried to cope with the rumors about his infidelity, but the mistrust was still there and growing.
In October, it was reported that Miyazaki moved out of their apartment, only a couple of months after Takaoka was criticized for openly bashing the ‘Korean Wave’ on Twitter and left his former agency. She finally had enough and, according to ‘Shukan Josei’, sent him the divorce papers in the following month. He was said to be shocked at first, maybe hoping for them to reconcile again, but eventually signed the papers this month as well.
Takaoka’s new agency announced that he changed the kanji of his stage name as a sign of a fresh start for him on December 19th. However, they didn’t make any comments regarding his private life. Miyazaki’s agency denied the rumors about an impending divorce for now and commented, “We haven’t received any news about a possible divorce.”
