I'm still not overly fond of the song, but the PV looks cute. :) It does definitely give me the vibe that we're moving into yet another new Momusu era in any case.

Dear god, I know UFA loves pushing certain girls and letting others rot in the back but can they at least try to push the ones that can sing?
kushina 29th-Dec-2011 09:37 pm (UTC)
Terrible.

Poor Gaki and Sayu, they need to graduate.
taylorniw 29th-Dec-2011 09:48 pm (UTC)
Risa should have graduated five years ago.
rim1789 29th-Dec-2011 09:45 pm (UTC)

taylorniw 29th-Dec-2011 09:46 pm (UTC)
Kind of cute. Too early to say whether this is the direction they'll keep going in. It's just one single.

Also, has anyone here seen the new DMM preview? That was SO CONFUSING.

i love you.
yaoilicious_53 29th-Dec-2011 09:52 pm (UTC)
Augh, no.
mia_p 29th-Dec-2011 10:01 pm (UTC)
You know how they walk off that screen and are marching along in the background? Did anyone else notice that it's cropped off on the sides as they walk? It looks like a really cheap photoshop effect but it's not edited properly. Seriously who is in charge of making these videos?? they need to be fired :P the song also seems even more dull after seeing this preview D: I have a feeling this might be their lowest selling single :P
aduck8myshoes 29th-Dec-2011 10:10 pm (UTC)
I hope it is their lowest selling. Mikan was a great song and doesn't deserve that title. This song and pv probably do.
aduck8myshoes 29th-Dec-2011 10:06 pm (UTC)
Why UF, why?

whereismykey 29th-Dec-2011 10:12 pm (UTC)
Honestly, at least they're trying something different. The song is cute.
However, it would be REALLY annoying if ALL their future singles are like this.
doujoushin 29th-Dec-2011 10:25 pm (UTC)
+1.
I really don't mind this for one single. I hate the outfits and the song is only slowly starting to grow on me, this won't really enter my top 10 list, but it's just one single I don't get why people whine so much about it. Once they've had 5 singles in a row like this one can start whining.
morroska 29th-Dec-2011 10:17 pm (UTC)
is aika dancing in this? in the dance shots i cant tell them apart with those ridiculous chicken suits.
doujoushin 29th-Dec-2011 10:23 pm (UTC)
No she isn't. My guess is that she will dance in the next one though and hopefully for the spring tour.
erichuu 29th-Dec-2011 10:33 pm (UTC)
This might've worked 10 years ago. As a b-side. Or an album filler.
Also, what's with that cheap effect around 0:56? I seriously thought my headphones stopped working properly D:.

It makes me sad they STILL don't get what works for them.
The industry is constantly changing, yet they're still coming out with stuff that worked for the group a decade ago. After a few years of declining sales you'd think UFA tries to get them back on their feet again with a refreshing, new image. Instead Momusu's becoming more and more like a sinking ship.
taylorniw 29th-Dec-2011 10:53 pm (UTC)
UFA doesn't care about single sales. They've moved on to merchandise and concert money. Why should they? It doesn't matter how great the song or the PV is, Morning Musume is never going to be a huge single seller again.

What the fuck is this?
supermusicmaker 29th-Dec-2011 11:41 pm (UTC)
omg such terrible outfits

more like choco choco ultra!
ryrymini 30th-Dec-2011 01:54 am (UTC)
Pyoko pyoko is the sound a chicken makes in Japanese so it's apparently relevant. Though they are chocobo wannabees.
elysiumemporer 30th-Dec-2011 12:11 am (UTC)
Maybe Tsunku will pull a Chokkan 2 on this at the last minute.
taylorniw 30th-Dec-2011 01:51 am (UTC)
I hate that they didn't make Koi wa Hussle the A-side (it got bad fan reception so they didn't use it). It had ridiculous lyrics and I loved it.
nakurity 30th-Dec-2011 02:20 am (UTC)
Well... it's not a Reina center single at least.
nozo_rin 30th-Dec-2011 02:24 am (UTC)
It's cute. I like it.
yasmine2009 30th-Dec-2011 02:31 am (UTC)
I'm one of few not bitching about this single. It's amazing by no means, but it entertains me.
ararat010 30th-Dec-2011 02:37 am (UTC)
What an unbelievable piece of shit.
Just remember this: for every copy of this single that gets printed we get one step closer to peak oil.
you_speak_lies 30th-Dec-2011 03:30 am (UTC)
I can't even get through the preview. It just makes me sad. And kind of embarrassed to be a Morning Musume fan. Which makes me sad again. I know the group's made up of mostly 12-year-olds now and that they need a younger image, but not preschool younger. I have never been this disappointed by anything Hello! Project has ever done before, and they've done some really disappointing things.
stewiem10791 30th-Dec-2011 05:41 am (UTC)
These girls are still trying...
aeryro 30th-Dec-2011 06:21 am (UTC)
idk if i like this or not :C
antifools 30th-Dec-2011 10:35 am (UTC)
Ugly PV for an equally ugly song..How much patience do wotas have?

But MM doing a childish stunt could probably be part of the Disneyland Tsunku is creating in Akihabara. LOL..
pucchi_q 30th-Dec-2011 11:28 am (UTC)
There are two types of music in this world, the sexy music and the cute music. Hello!Project was never able to do sexy well, but they always brought it when it came to cute.

Song may not be a winner, but they sure are so damn cute trying to pull off this dud of a song.
ararat010 30th-Dec-2011 02:16 pm (UTC)
Hate to burst your safety bubble, but even when compared to other cutesy idol songs released in recent years, this song doesn't hold a half-melted candle to its competitors in terms of quality of the song, video and girls.
Not only that, but you can't even say it succeeded at pulling off a cute act even if just by means of evoking pity in the viewer with its clumsy execution.
Despite the aforementioned being the least you'd expect from a child idol group with such pretenses, for the most part the PV manages to provoke the opposite of its intended effects, thanks just in part to the abhorrent "costumes" and the stomach-wrenching sound effects that only magnify the overall creepiness of the whole.
And don't let me get started on the other go-to excuse that people usually whip out when this kind of trainwrecks happen: "As long as it's cute, it doesn't necessarily have to perfect", which basically means it can be utter shit with no redeeming values but you can't knock on it because they overcompensate with sweetie-ass imagery.
Unlike what Harowotas are currently forcing themselves to believe in an attempt to keep this group on its undeserved pedestal, candy pop music and good songwriting/good singing/overall high production values are not mutually exclusive.
Refer to Watarirouka Hashiritai, Ebisu Chuugaku and Momoiro Clover for further clarifications. Although I am not excessively fond of any of them, I'd rather have any of their song over this ugly mess, because it proves without a shadow of a doubt that everyone involved in the project (from the songwriters down to each single performing member) has a clue of what they are doing instead of stumbling around aimlessly like a drunk hobo.
