Some of her answers are kind of weird... She likes alpacas (though it sounds like she has limited to no exposure to alpacas) and meeting the eyes of fans in the middle of preforming in a concert. And apparently she`s never going to grow up.

She keeps talking about fans so much, comes off pretty disingenuous. :/

Did you read it? It`s a little much. Probably the only truly honest thing was that she wants to go to an alpaca farm to see alpacas sometime.

Nah, I can't read Japanese, which is probably why I didn't get ops joke. But I wouldn't be surprised. She has an image to uphold and people aren't the same when all eyes are on them than they would be otherwise. You have to pander to the fans whether you truly like them or not.

I think "kitschy" is for that dress she`s wearing and not having anything to do with what Mayuyu said.

But I guess you`re right about that. Groups, especially ones like AKB, have to continually thank and praise their fans and pretend that they care about them as individuals...hence Mayuyu saying she likes to meet eyes with individual fans which can be a very personal thing. She talked about it two or three times.

the photoshoot in general just has a very kitsch feel to it, in my opinion. these would be a few examples of the certain kitsch style: 1, 2. lots of animals, colours, misc. knick-knacks and somewhat whimsical. hope that clears up any confusion. c:

I think she only likes alpacas because of the plushies she's been obsessed with lately, not the actual ones all that much. (refer to gifs in comments below!)

Probably. Alpaca stuffed animals and illustrations are very cute, but the real thing isn`t so much. They smell like livestock such as goats or sheep generally do and they`re usually not cuddly at all. Probably not a good idea for her to go to see alpacas in real life.

Yeah, she'll have to learn the hard way I guess.
I mean, alpacas at petting farms are alright but she'll probably end up disappointed...

she actually got to see a real alpaca recently. and there's nothing wrong with liking alpacas even if they do smell. i like goats and lambs, then again i lived on a farm for a while so i got used to the smell. :3 i also like giraffes and i'm sure they're not pleasant smelling but won't stop me from loving them, hehe.
