Controversial Johnny's Entertainment blogger being investigated

The extremely popular Johnny's Entertainment blogger Kamichan, whose site boasts almost 5 million hits, has gone on an indefinite hiatus due to a storm of criticism that had arisen in recent weeks.

Kamichan was scheduled to publish a book about the Johnny Entertainment fandom, specifically concerning his treatment as a man in a predominantly female fandom. However, criticism of his alleged support of pedophilia arose, and it is now being reported that PayPal will no longer allow him to have an account.

In addition, WebGains, owner of YesAsia, an affiliate of Kamichan, received an enormous amount of complaints about his behavior and now claim to be investigating him through a form letter. PlayAsia has also decided to remove Kamichan from their affiliation program, with the link on his site being disabled and only linking to the PlayAsia homepage.

A release date for the book has yet to be announced.

We didn't start the fire, it was always burning since the worlds been turning
We didn't start the fire, no we didn't light it but we tried to fight it~

I suppose we should lock up all the women who are older and think Taylor Lautner is hot too. If you followed his posts like I did, his comments weren't any worse than other fan comments and yes other fans were women and *gasps* adults! Omg! Call the cops! People are verbalizing someone is hot but they are older and if you are older you are obviously a rapist. Um no sorry, I know a woman who has kids and says she thought Taylor Lautner's body was amazing and calling him one sexy guy after watching Twilight. Maybe I should've realized at that moment that her kids should be removed from her immediately right? Because her verbalizing that obviously makes her a rapist and makes her prey on children, she wasn't simply being a fan of Team Jacob, because that surely doesn't exist!

You guys be happy, I for one enjoyed reading about his analogies and his guesstimation for sales were well done. He wrote reviews, shows I usually didn't want to bother watching because I don't understand Japanese I could enjoy through his explanations. His main thing was sharing information he found to other fans. It was never a blog that glorified sexualizing them. It was information sharing for English speaking fans. He also mentioned he liked the boys in a platonic way. Why was that never mentioned, I'm sure the woman with kids will never rape Taylor Lautner despite swooning over him in the movie and I don't understand why we can't give kamichan the benefit of the doubt either. Why is he straight off a rapist and not just simply a fan?

Well I hope you're happy for cyber bullying someone on the internet. I hope you're glad you made one person feel horrible for being a fan. Well done to you because you got what you wanted.

I'm so agree. Thank you for writing this, I hope at least someone will understand this horrible mistake :( Kamichan is not a criminal!

To any living individual who said pedophilia is not a crime, I have no sympathy what so ever. Just my thought.
atarashiiyoake 22nd-Mar-2012 10:27 am (UTC)
Then I'd suggest you read up on what paedophilia actually is and try to educate yourself a little bit.

It's actually a mental disorder and not at all a crime until you actually molest any children, or create/buy/support child pornography (which involves the sexual assault of children).

Saying paedophilia is a crime is like saying suffering from psychosis is a crime. Because both bring forth an added risk to committing crimes. But then again so does getting drunk.

Just my thought.
arashic5 22nd-Mar-2012 03:09 pm (UTC)
No, still not feeling any sympathy. Not towards children. Especially not children.
atarashiiyoake 22nd-Mar-2012 04:11 pm (UTC)
.... you don't feel any sympathy towards children? O.o

And 'paedophilia isn't a crime' isn't an opinion. It's in the law in most countries. That makes it a fact. The law decides what a crime is, I don't, you don't, Kamichan doesn't, his stans don't. Laws can be changed, but these haven't yet, so sorry to burst your bubble.
arashic5 22nd-Mar-2012 04:42 pm (UTC)
No,what I meant is I have no sympathy to people who feels the way pedo feels toward children.
Its not something punishable by law, but its not right. Saying that "its not a crime" so lightly, to me, is like taking how sick their minds are so lightly. You cant punish their thoughts, but I sure am not going to feel any kind of sympathy for them.
atarashiiyoake 22nd-Mar-2012 05:06 pm (UTC)
But it still wouldn't be a crime.

If I fantasize about robbing a bank, I won't be committing a crime. Not until I go out with a gun and actually attempt to rob that actual bank.

I'm studying to work with criminals (among which child sex offenders) with mental issues. Believe me, I would never ever take what goes on in their minds lightly at all.

It's the same with people suffering from Borderline personality disorder. They can be the most terrible people to be around. They can be manipulative, they can be pathological liars, terribly irresponsible, etc. A lot of them have the stereotypical personality most people would absolutely hate with a passion. But they didn't ask for this disorder either. That's where my sympathy comes from.

Having sympathy for someone doesn't mean you forgive them for their actions, or think lightly of the disturbing and terrible things they think or do. For me it means trying to understand how their mind works and to come up with a way to prevent their problematic behaviour from happening (again), or to minimise it within society. This, instead of simply judging and blaming and chasing them out public view.

I can't tell you to feel sympathy when you don't. It's your right to feel whatever you feel and you can't help how you feel. I'm just trying to make you understand what sympathy means for me, in this case.

What you said is exactly what I wanted to say, but didn't know how to put it into words. Thank you for this glorious comment.

Comments like this have me weeping for humanity.

Thank you. I haven't heard of this guy outside of the past two posts about him on Arama, but from what I can tell, he's just a fan, and I agree with your sentiments.
inachan89 21st-Mar-2012 07:39 pm (UTC)
dunno about that guy, never followed him so can't really judge what he said but your comment is kind of...uhm..your comparison doesn't make sense,Taylor Lautner is 20 years old,not in his early 10s or less...
forward_belief 21st-Mar-2012 07:45 pm (UTC)
He was about 16-17 when he started the Twilight saga and some of these women I knew were in their 40's. I could use Justin Bieber too if that makes a better argument.
inachan89 21st-Mar-2012 08:03 pm (UTC)
ah right, didn't remember that he was in the first movie, however being 16-17 is still late teens (tough a woman in her 40s..oh well..don't wan't to enter in this subject..).Don't feel like i was attacking you cause i wasn't,i just thought that ur comment felt more like a rant instead of proving your point, sorry.
forward_belief 21st-Mar-2012 11:14 pm (UTC)
No worries I don't feel attacked at all. You seem quite nice and level headed, nothing wrong with asking me a question.

My main point is he talks like a fan and since I've been reading his stuff nothing about it seems like he actually seriously wants them in that way. He's proud when they do well in sales, he has stated his love is platonic and he also called out the speaker at Music Station for calling Sexy Zone to be sexy boys as somewhat ridiculous saying they are definitely not there yet. So the vibe I got was never one that was creepy. I know as a fan it sucks to be attacked and being cyber bullied for being different isn't right. Especially because his blog, if these others read it, was never about playing out his sexual fantasies. It was news based with side fangirly/fanboying comments.
jump2narnia 21st-Mar-2012 08:58 pm (UTC)
Thank you!! You said it perfectly.
retahdedtim 21st-Mar-2012 11:39 pm (UTC)
What in the world is this incoherent comment trying to accomplish? Why are you throwing the word "rapist" in there? You are the first person I've seen to throw "rape" into this topic.

Basically, what-what-what are you doing?
twilightstarz28 22nd-Mar-2012 12:32 am (UTC)
totally agree!
