Which celebrity has the most exotic look?

Recently AKB48’s Shinoda Mariko made a comment stating fellow member Akimoto Sayaka would be the most similar to King Tut since she is half Filipino. This statement prompted goo to ask its viewers which celebrity they felt had the most exotic look.

I think that an exotic look depends on the place and the viewer, i mean put Kuroki Meisa amond latina beauties and she is not that exotic or special, but for japan i think she does fit in the category.

i hate that word too. it's not like they have 3 legs or something. but it basically means, "who looks the most different from the rest of us", wherever it's asked. people in the states call men with any kind of ethnicity that isn't distinctively "amurican" even if they are from america "exotic," but you hear it used more often for women. i think it just shows that the user has a limited view of the world, which is so passe now that we have the internet.

What does exotic mean, though? I really feel uncomfortable when women are labled as "exotic". I just see it as a way to sexualize women who have racial/ethnic features that different from the majority. I haaaate it when men outside my racial group call me or my hair exotic, it pisses me off and makes me feel objectified. But, hey, maybe I'm reading too much into this.

Anyway, all of these women are stunning in their own rights.

I get what you mean. I rarely use "exotic" and when I do it`s not limited to the female gender, and usually only pops up I`m discussing with someone (ie usually a Japanese person) something having to do with perceived exoticism.

I personally don`t know what makes most of the women on that list "exotic". I don`t know about "exotic" but some half Japanese men and women are attractive, but some really are average at best.

I do think that exotic means looking different from the majority just like you said, so you can be exotic in another place in the world but not exotic among your own race or country.

And i do think you are reading too much into it, since i don't think people mean any harm, and i personally believe that calling someone exotic is also implying that they are beautiful so i don't see it as a bad thing.

Oh, I was being a facetious with my comment about reading too much into labeling racial/ethnic others as "exotic". These small, off-handed comments may not be said with malicious intent, but they do perpetuate the historical and social hypersexualization and objectification of the "other" woman. This is my main concern with the phrase...

i understand. when i'm called exotic i feel more weirded out than flattered. :/ also smh @ those types of guys. i don't mind when its just a passing interest, but some of them are really persistent with the race, culture, & language thing. i tell them i'm canadian just like them, but they insist on knowing my entire family history. i live in an extremely culturally diverse area yet this obsession still happens and it blows my mind.

i also have embarrassing stories (the embarrassment being second-hand cause these guys where so dumb) of men mistaking me as muslim and trying to get with me because of it. i'm guessing for thrills because these guys clearly weren't religious. it confuses me why they would choose to approach me rather than a hijabi girl though, unless by muslim they meant middle eastern (lol). it goes to show whoever you are you aren't safe from being fetishised.

Agree with you. My mother who is from Caribbean is labelled "exotic" by most of my father's friends. In reality, they think that she's attractive, but most essentially sexually attractive, THOSE MORONS.

I agree. I've been called "exotic" before, its somehow flattering (the word usually implied that you look good and different, as in not of the norm in that particular region) but at the same time it kind gives an impression that I don't belong there? Yes and the objectifying part is also bothersome.

I don't use the word "exotic." If I find someone looks quite different from what I normally see and I find them attractive, I just say they look good and unique. I'm Canadian too, but lets be real, outside of the major cities most people are of English or French decent.
