Mariko trolls reporter; is never leaving AKB + gets 1mil followers on twitter
Recently, Shinoda Mariko held a presscon for her CM for Covert Affairs. During the question section, a reporter decided to ask her about Maeda Atsuko who announced her graduation recently. And Maritroll shocked the reporter with some of her responses.
Interviewer: Did Maeda-san confide in you about her graduation?
Shinoda: You thought it would be me didn’t you?
Interviewer: Excuse me?
Shinoda: Looking at it terms of age and whatnot, you would think I would be the one to graduate first among all the members, but as long as I can move and have fans I’ll be here. But hearing Acchan’s graduation…she had been talking to me about it for a long time, and at that time I kept on saying ‘Don’t leave. Let’s keep doing this forever’ But this decision was something that Acchan came to herself, and even up until the last day I kept on saying ‘Don’t leave’, but in the end, the decision was hers.
Interviewer: You didn’t know whether she was going to graduate?
Shinoda: She didn’t know until the very last day. It was back and forth. When I talked to her about it the last day she said “It’d be nice if we could all stay together like this forever.” But I realized she has other things she wants to do, and she made this decision thinking about the future of AKB in my mind as well.
Interviewer: You acted surprised on stage.
Shinoda: I was just surprised she said. Like, ‘Wow. She did it.’ I had hope because what she said earlier, but it’s her choice, and I we support her all the way.
Interviewer: How long ago did she confide in you about her graduation?
Shinoda: Probably about a year or so ago.
Interviewer: How did you feel when she graduated?
Shinoda: I just thought “She’s gonna go”. She was so strong throughout it all.
Interviewer: When do you think you will graduate?
Shinoda: As long as my body can take it. There may come a time where I have to stop performing because of a bad back -laughs-
Interviewer: What will happen between Maeda and AKB?
Shinoda: I mean, we’ll support her regardless of whether she is a part of AKB or not. She isn’t going to leave just because she isn’t a part of AKB (Of course, with Mariko-sama having frequent dates with Oku, Yukari and Noro, you know it’s true), and we’ll work together from now on too.
EDIT: Also, today, Mariko reached 1 million followers on twitter. So she celebrated/thanked her followers using her fellow teammates.
