Popular rock band, B'z, have achieved their 46th consecutive no.1 single with their 50th single, "GO FOR IT, BABY -Kioku no Sanmyaku-," since "Taiyou no Komachi Angel" (released in June 1990). This makes a cumulative 63 weeks at no.1 for B'z, tied at the top with Pink Lady for the artist with the most weeks at no.1. With this, they have added one more record for a total of 10 since Oricon was established.

Meanwhile, actor-singer Yusuke, has topped the albums chart with his 3rd album, "Ano..Namida ga Arukara Ai ga Arundesukedo。". This is his 2nd consecutive no.1 album. It has been a year since the last male soloist to achieve 2 consecutive no.1 albums, Oda Kazumasa with "Jiko Best 2" (released in November 2007) and "Domo" (released in April last year). This album includes singles "Zenbu Suki。", "Otakebi", "Isshoukenmei", "Inazuma Samurai", and "Baby Baby" for a total of 15 tracks.
In the music-DVD chart, five men rock band, UVERworld have reached the top spot with "UVERworld 2011 Premium LIVE on Xmas", making it their 3rd consecutive no.1 music-DVD since "UVERworld Video Complete -act.1- first 5 years", and 4th overall. This DVD was recorded from their Christmas live last year which was broadcasted to 62 theaters across Japan as well as theaters in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. This DVD also includes footage of 11 tracks recorded at Zepp Tokyo in July last year, while in the limited edition, additional footage of 10 tracks at Zepp Sendai is included.
