Jin Akanishi dropped from drama

Johnny’s talent Jin Akanishi had been cast as the lead for a drama scheduled to start in July but has been dropped, it was revealed on April 14, reports Nikkan Sports.

It has been reported Akanishi’s agency Johnny’s & Associates had asked producers to drop him, and it is another punishment for the talent’s sudden marriage to Meisa Kuroki.  It is another blow to the talent, who has already had his national tour cancelled.

The drama in question is a remake of the highly-popular “GTO” series, a live action drama made in 1998 based on the popular manga series about an ex-gang member who becomes a high school teacher.  Akanishi had been cast as the lead character before he and Kuroki announced they had gotten married on February 2.

It has been reported Johnny’s had talked to the drama’s producers at Kansai TV early last month, and after some discussions between the two parties they had made their final decision by the end of March.  When Nikkan Sports reporters went to ask for an interview, a Kansai TV representative had said they had nothing to comment about, neither denying or confirming the news.  However, it has been reported a source within the TV company had said the report was true.

“I had heard Akanishi-san was one of the leading candidates for the role, but it’s been made quite clear he’s out of the picture now,” the source said.

“GTO” would have been Akanishi’s first leading drama role since “Yukan Club” five years ago.  It has been reported the TV company is moving ahead with production, and have already started auditioning actors to play school students.

Now, Akanishi’s schedule for the near future is blank.  For the 27-year-old talent who said he left KAT-TUN because he hated how his own ambitions were causing the others trouble, this could be his toughest lesson yet.

Sometimes, I just can't help but feel that Johnny's has no humanity at all.

oh well.

Shoulda used a condom, Jin. Shoulda used a condom.

May I impregnate and marry this comment? It's perfection.
lavi_licious 16th-Apr-2012 11:57 am (UTC)
its a good thing that he is being pulled out. not just about the punishment but the fact that the shotgun marriage has impacted on his image. he being in the drama might affect the drama itself, regardless of whether if the remake is good or another flop like the hana kimi remake.

and i guess johnny has finally exploded after being lenient on jin for so long. jin can only blame himself for being irresponsible. i only pity meisa; at least she told the agency about the marriage before they got married, but now she has to suffer because of jin's huge debt..

No truer words have been spoken *thumbs up*

OK, this whole Jin/Meisa thing was, I admit, entertaining to follow at first. But at this point, it's just sad. It's not so much the punishment he's getting from the agency (yeah, I get it; he messed up and has to take responsibility and blah, blah, blah), but the sheer ridiculousness of it all.

I'm not really a fan. I only heard about him when I saw a post about the latest J-Pop singer to attempt to become successful in the U.S. and thought "He looks familiar; wasn't he in some group? I think I'll follow this story until the album's release..." Needless to say I didn't expect a train wreck. Hell, to say it's 'just' a train wreck would be an understatement. The train was full of small children on their way to a charity event and steered off the rails and into a lake. Oh, and the conductor was a week away from retirement. That's the type of train wreck this is.

Maybe JE is trying to force him to leave. Who knows but really he's lucky they didn't fire him, especially if notifying the agency of marriage is in his contract.
kawaii_beela 16th-Apr-2012 02:35 pm (UTC)
i thought so too!! they keep giving him so many chances!! but im almost positive if this was any other johnnys, they would have been fired now!! je must have some sort of ulterior motive to keeping jin:S
anyeem229 16th-Apr-2012 02:21 pm (UTC)
Kuroki Meisa: ”We want to combine our powers as husband and wife, and pour all our love into this child.”

i'm afraid her super hero husband will be depleted of energy after JE's punishments are over.
kawaii_beela 16th-Apr-2012 02:34 pm (UTC)
im glad cuz jin would be the worst onizuka ever!!! why cant they just recast sorimachi takashi? =____________= ughhhhhh remakes
kamesama25 16th-Apr-2012 03:21 pm (UTC)
I'm sorry to say this but i do think that Jin is only getting what he deserves.
His "punishments" are harsh but other JE boys who didn't follow the RULES suffer and is still suffering from breaking the JE code. Remember Uchi was a debuted NEWS member but because of underage drinking he became a trainee again which is one step lower than a junior. He got replaced from an upcoming drama and was basically jobless for at least 5 months.
Jin is becoming too cocky and full of hot air. He disregards everything and everyone around him just because, as he said, he doesn't want to conform to the business that gave him fame and fortune. The IDOL business.
Again, I'm sorry but it's about time that someone burst that over confidence bubble that Jin surrounds himself in so he can land again with his two feet firmly on the ground.
arara_chan 16th-Apr-2012 03:04 pm (UTC)
Do they want to ruin his life completely??
... Well I guess it would have been a flop anyway xD
kawaii_beela 16th-Apr-2012 03:34 pm (UTC)
he pretty much ruined his own life by screwing over his agency:S
quinie115 16th-Apr-2012 03:06 pm (UTC)
I don't know if whether keeping him in GTO as onizuka and then get annoyed by Johnny's Jrs and Sexy Zone to rub on his face or rather put him in variety shows with weirdo comedians and annoy the crap of him would be better punishment...but don't just cut of his work...just put him in some random show...so he can get some income
brucelynn 16th-Apr-2012 04:19 pm (UTC)
*sings in soulful voice*

EVERYBODY HATES JIN
winds_daichi 16th-Apr-2012 06:30 pm (UTC)
LMAOOOOO!~

*Jin stands in a frozen shrug position.*
ocha_suki 16th-Apr-2012 04:46 pm (UTC)
opposite to what major say that his pull out from this remake by Johnny, i think it's just another way of johnny to save jin ass.
i think the old man dnw to see jin being suffer & blamed if the remake will be flop...dunno, i just keep thinking that the old man does love his son-neva-have too much, that he'll do anything to save his taisetsuna musuko eventhough with the weirdest way eva :p
atarashiiyoake 16th-Apr-2012 05:19 pm (UTC)
There truly is a god.

Not that I want him to bum out the rest of his life, I just didn't want his ass in this drama. I'm sure there are loads of Konbini's that'd love to hire him. He'd be good for business.
winds_daichi 16th-Apr-2012 06:29 pm (UTC)
TBH, I'm starting to feel really sorry for Jin. But, when there is cause, there is an effect. But, am I the only one that feels like that this shitstorm isn't over?
taciturndream 16th-Apr-2012 07:23 pm (UTC)
This might be the effect JE wants though, for us to start feeling sorry for Jin and then Akanishi returning months later, after the storm is not there anymore.

Dunno, I think business is business, sadly. I am not sure what to think with this though, I really doubt Johnny is making Jin a damage, it's like there's something more than we know and this is for Jin's benefit. Or maybe he is really being serious and wants Jin out of JE once and for all.

I try looking at it with kind eyes, I still like Jin, but in life even a delivery-boy has this stuff happen to them, without fame, and they continue living. If one pushes too far...walls are bound to fall.

I hope Akanishi does return to the business, maybe in dramas, since he is still pretty. ears will cringe if another Japonicana CD is made
eggchan 16th-Apr-2012 08:52 pm (UTC)
OH THANK GOD.
trinitylayne 16th-Apr-2012 09:31 pm (UTC)
I few things are bugging me about these supposed punishments...

Other then keeping him in the new papers/blogs/&such how is he really being punished.

1st the tour...the dates had not been announced NOR had any tickets been sold (so honestly who's to say J&A was actually going to have them anyway (regardless of Jin's marrage) given the time gap between the shows he had in the US and the supposed tour in Japan (imo there was too much of a time gap between them, Johnny would be missing out the free press adn fan reaction from the album release)
as for the fines ..well unless they show proof that he actually paid anything, we just have J&A "word" that Jin was actually made to cover them.

2nd: this drama...which would be total fail anyway...nothing could top the original in my book.

“I had heard Akanishi-san was one of the leading candidates for the role, but it’s been made quite clear he’s out of the picture now,” the source said.

the key words in this statement is "one of the leading candidates for the role" reading between the lines of this is he was in the running, but his agency made it clear he wouldn't be available. it to me seems as if J&A are make more of a show out of punishing Jin, then they are actually punishing him...Saying he doesn't get to do this...or something else (and chalk it up to his "punishment") when he actually DIDN'T have the part yet, up until this he was just RUMORED to have the part.

If Jin was truly being punished, he would have been kicked out of the agency and blacklisted in Japan before the ink dried on his marriage registration.

though am so happy Jin won't be in this...GTO remake=total FAIL LOL
6summer_rain9 16th-Apr-2012 10:46 pm (UTC)
Even though I don't believe this is part of an alleged punishment, and I'm sure we won't ever know what Jin's real punishment will be(and IF he'll be punished for real), since the start of the so called 'MeisaNishi saga', I had the feeling that this ruckus won't be the end of Jin.
In fact, I'm positive that the guy will come out cleaner than he ever was.
If his management plays its cards right, it will be able to give Jin a brand new (and much more lovely)image. That of a father of success.

Let's admit it, this guy's skills are limited and he's going on mainly thanks to his looks.
He can't act that well, he's lost part of his vocal abilities since a couple of years and...his current image is more of an asshole, than of a musician/entertainer/actor/whatever.
He'll disappear for a while.A year, maybe two.And he'll come back redeemed.
He'll talk about his son/daughter and his new life as a father, and everyone will go 'awww, how cute!<3'.
I'm sure he won't be starving, and neither will his wife and future child.
There's much worse situations than this, there's people REALLY struggling to survive, out there, and honestly I don't feel bad about Akanishi.
He's not poor, guys.Meisa isn't, either.
They've been in the entertainment business for years. They've got plenty of activities, and I'm sure they make something out of the records they cut.
Plus, they've got parents who still work, and grandparents who can help them both financially and looking after the child.

That being said, I wish him the best and I hope to be able to listen to one of his wonderful ballads, soon.
But most importantly...Since the majority of you gushes over 'GTO', I guess I should watch it, now.:P

Reading about Jin is like watching a trainwreck. It's horrible but you can't stop watching. Seriously, Jin is this close to crashing and burning.
yume_kumori 17th-Apr-2012 02:16 am (UTC)
I feel like an asshole for saying "Shit, I knew this was coming and im happy about it." Buuuut, I saw this coming and after I got over the asl;kd;laskd portion of the idea, I started to laugh, becuase Jin, you make me smile on tv, but you cant act for shit. And you kinda did this to yourself. Remember, Johnny is your father, you have to ask his permission to even wipe your own ass, okay?
tabbytabitha 17th-Apr-2012 03:48 am (UTC)
wow, so severe? > < his punishments are getting a little bit too cruel here.
nakajimayuniz 17th-Apr-2012 09:28 am (UTC)
WAE YOU SO BAD MANONG JOHNNY?!

POOR JIN :(
the_lilone 17th-Apr-2012 11:43 am (UTC)
Oh well. Nothing to lose. GTO was a classic and I don't know if I can accept a remake of Sorimachi's classic work. Let alone have that guy star in it. He can't act for his life.
riidaaisbest 17th-Apr-2012 09:38 pm (UTC)
Quite an easy lesson to see here: Don't mess with the people you have a signed contract with that highlight certain obligations and behavior. Better yet - don't bite the hand that feeds you.

Akanishi was stupid. He'll deal with it and (hopefully) grow up in the process.
