Popular Johnny's group, SMAP have achieved the top spot in the singles chart with their 47th single, "Sakasama no Sora." The A-side is the theme song for the current NHK morning drama, "Ume-chan Sensei" starring Horikita Maki. The last time a morning drama theme song topped the chart was 7 years and 5 months ago with "Naitari Shinai de" by Fukuyama Masaharu, the theme song of "Wakaba" (released in December 2004). Starting from "freebird" (released in May 2002), this is their 14th consecutive no.1 single (out of 25 no.1 singles). This is also their 47th consecutive top 10 single starting from their debut single, "Can't Stop!! -Loving-" (released in September 1991), tying them with B'z for the most consecutive top 10 singles.
In the albums chart, popular duo, Yuzu's 15th anniversary best album, "YUZU YOU[2006~2011]" have reached the no.1 spot. This is their 3rd consecutive no.1 album since "FURUSATO" (released in October 2009) out of a total 11 no.1 albums. This best album includes Nihonseimei CM song, "Niji", last year's song for NHK Kouhaku Utagassen, "Hey Wa", new version of "Eikou no Kakehashi", and a self-cover of "T.W.L" by Kanjani8 which was written by Yuzu's Kitagawa Yujin, with a total of 16 songs overall.
Meanwhile, popular Johnny's duo, Tegomass, made up of Tegoshi Yuya and Masuda Takahisa from the group NEWS, have achieved their 2nd no.1 music-DVD as a sub-unit with "Tegomasu 3rd Live Tegomasu no Mahou★", making it the first time in history for a sub-unit to achieve this. This DVD was recorded from their Yokohama Arena live in December last year, including their recent single "Mahou no Melody", their 1st single "Miso Soup", and NEWS' song "Sakura Girl", for a total of 26 songs.
