Oh dear saxophone how much I hated you I'll love you now! A fan said he was really good at it OMG! How could they even hide it in these reports!?
I love Vampire song! Could actually imagine Yamada in such transformation, would be abso-fucking-lutely breathtaking!
iera_jun 5th-May-2012 06:05 am (UTC)
omg too many feels.
i wish i was there :'(
nekobot01 5th-May-2012 11:30 am (UTC)
Saxophone?! LOL @ Yamada!! There must be a different image of saxophone as part of rock bands in Japan... it always just reminds me of this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yakety_Sax

Well, it has the same fingerings as flute so maybe he picked it up so he could switch off for some rockin' flute solos Jethro Tull style! Ha ha ha!
starryz1221c 5th-May-2012 12:10 pm (UTC)
Woot! Going to the Hong Kong concert :) I can't wait for the vampire song!
brenda000 5th-May-2012 01:56 pm (UTC)
Awesome. But seriously, why always Yamada only? Don't the others exist also? Give them more love and limelight. They deserve it. Too much of one person can be such a put off.
specialiruka 5th-May-2012 02:23 pm (UTC)
truthfully, i left the fandom on hitomi no screen era up to late 2011 because there was too much him and i can't stand it ://
i'm kinda ok with him now though, but occasionally smh-ing when i saw him on screen
what kind of jumpers am i? /sigh/
brenda000 5th-May-2012 04:39 pm (UTC)
There's just too much Yamada, no offense to his fans but seriously, it's very sad for the others. Maybe some others like Chinen, Daiki, Yabu and Hikaru do get enough limelight. But what about Keito and Inoo? They hardly have any solos or even any screen time at all. Johnny has this tendency to shove the poplar ones up everyone's faces that it really backfires.
specialiruka 5th-May-2012 04:50 pm (UTC)
YES.
And when Keito said that he had his first solo line ever in DASH!, I was like ://///
JUMP had been around since 2007 and he got his solo line in 2011? SMH.
brenda000 5th-May-2012 04:58 pm (UTC)
Exactly. I'm pretty sure if Ryutaro is still around in the group, he'd also not really have any solos and stuff. This is plain unfair.
specialiruka 5th-May-2012 05:11 pm (UTC)
I really miss the Showa Heisei era, where at least I can hear Ryuu's voice properly in the songs the trio sang...
brenda000 5th-May-2012 06:40 pm (UTC)
Yeah. His voice is so nice. He just didn't have the chance to show it.
gray_fairy 6th-May-2012 11:42 am (UTC)
But you can't compare HnS era with now. At that time, the group was basically Yamada+backdancers, but now the others have much more screentime and in some choreos Yamada isn't even in the center most of time.
specialiruka 6th-May-2012 12:22 pm (UTC)
Which is exactly the reason I came back to the fandom after the long 2 years, because at least everyone got their own spotlight now :D (minus Keito and Kei, their screen time combined can't even reach the 2 minutes mark and they didn't have any solo lines on JUMP's title tracks.)

OOT, but I'm re-watching Ikemen Desu Ne just to see Gaya.
Man looks so mighty fine there ( ื▿ ืʃƪ)( ื▿ ืʃƪ)( ื▿ ืʃƪ)/drools/
gray_fairy 6th-May-2012 12:47 pm (UTC)
I agree with Kei, but imo Keito is slowly getting more and more spotlight specially during talks, making off and stuff, because he's now much more comfortable around the camera and he's even showing some charisma. He used to be really really awkward and shy and that's the reason of why (in my opinion) he didn't get as much screentime as the others.

I love Gaya, but I admit his case now is similar to Yamada's in 2010. He gets lots of screentime along with Kitayama and Tamamori while the others are basically their backdancers, but it's curious because they don't get as much hate as Yamada.
specialiruka 6th-May-2012 01:05 pm (UTC)
I agree, his stage presence is starting to show and his ability in English earned him some screen time too :D
But majority of JUMP are super awkward in front of camera, especially variety shows (spare Yabu and Hikaru, they know how to do it because they started it young)

Maybe because it's 3/4 in Kisumai's case, not 1/9 like HSJ?
At the beginning of JUMP, their pillars were Yuto (ultimate frontman at that time), Yabu, and Hikaru, but suddenly it's always Yamada and people can't really adjust into it, while in Kisumai, it's always those three so people didn't really complained about it.(my theory)
gray_fairy 6th-May-2012 01:14 pm (UTC)
I don't think most of JUMP are awkward in front of the camera at all. Yuuto/Daiki/Takaki are excellent Shokura MCs in my opinion. Yamada isn't bad either. YabuHika have grown up in front of the camera, but Keito and Inoo are specially uncomfortable, even Keito is much more confident now.

Yes, but it's equally unfair. We never give up PV was much more unfair with Nika-Senga-Yokoo-Miyata than any HSJ PV was with the "least important" members, because you even can't reach to see their faces :/. And Kisumai not always has been like that. Long time ago, Yokoo was a frontman but now he barely gets any screentime.
And anyway, HSJ used to be 1/9 (or more like 3/9, because DaiChii were along with Yamada in the front) but now is way more balanced. Like I said, if you look at the bit of Vampire perf, is Inoo/Yuuto/Keito/Hikaru who are in the front and Yamada's in the back.
specialiruka 6th-May-2012 01:36 pm (UTC)
I watch too many Running Man then :/ (awesome casts with a flawless/perfect/amazing/greatest ahjussi as the main mc)
I wish there's Yoo Jae Suk somewhere in Japan to make Japanese's variety shows less awk for me :/ They're getting better in variety, especially BEST, I reckon that (but still awk, especially due to the fact that KoyaMaru were amazing in SC). Yamada was my cup of tea in Showa Heisei, but in School Kakumei, :///.

I got into Kisumai only after watching Ikemen Desu Ne and I only stan Gaya, so I was just speculating on my theory (no offense, really, just writing my thoughts). I didn't follow Kisumai as whole, I only know the fact that all of them had admirable skill in skating, that's it /ashamed/.

I'm glad at the fact they're more balanced now, and I hope that will happen to Kisumai soon :))
gray_fairy 6th-May-2012 01:48 pm (UTC)
Maybe I'm weird, but I prefer TaDaiJima as MC. KoyaMaru were good, but too serious/idol-like for my taste. I mean, TaDaiJima are younger and more natural in my opinion, and it's like their interaction with juniors is more natural and funny because with KoyaMaru the interaction was more a senpai-kouhai thing and it was all much more serious.

I don't watch School Kakumei, so I don't know how is Yamada in it, but I usually love him in making off and other stuff like JUMParty. He's really cute and cheerful most of the time.
specialiruka 6th-May-2012 02:02 pm (UTC)
Everyone has their own pov!!! You're not weird!
TaDaiJima's interaction with juniors is awesome, but as a viewer, I felt that KoyaMaru can spice things up, making the crowds' hyped up, and making SC super fun and hilarious (am I making any sense rn? my english embarassed me).

bunnypajamas 5th-May-2012 11:33 pm (UTC)
MTE. If Keito was the English man that plays the guitar, then where is his solo? JUMP band was OK with the members that were in Summary imo :\
gray_fairy 6th-May-2012 11:41 am (UTC)
Imo, the group is much more balance now than in HnS era. If you look at the Vampire performance carefully, Yamada isn't even in the center this time, and if you look at SUMMARY 2011, everyone had a decent amount of screentime. Anyway, I don't think Yamada will be permanent in the JUMPBand because the sax doesn't fit with most of songs, but I praise him because he's hard working and it's always trying to do new things. How is that bad?
cluelesschase 6th-May-2012 12:54 pm (UTC)
Honestly, I think that PART of it is that for Yamada, this is all of his future. Inoo is at university and Keito must have just spent the last year slogging to get into university -> both of them are not only idols, but spreading their talents around. Same with the other boys who are in university; they seem to pick up less dramas and be less on the go than, say, Yamada, Chinen and Yuto. It seems that those who are more invested in the fame and game side of being an idol get more screentime to help them promote that. It's a shame, because I love them all to pieces, but if they also want to focus their time on other things like academics, I totally support that too.
chizzyrei 6th-May-2012 02:07 pm (UTC)
IA. I even think they are giving more leeway to Inoo as he is studying architecture at Meiji. That's why it's rare to see him host SC. He also missed the LA photoshoot bec of school. He even said he can't practice the piano much bec of studies. So I think it's better to give him that leeway to be able to enjoy both work and school.
kobachan 7th-May-2012 06:46 am (UTC)
Did you actually watch their performance lately? I bet you didn't coz people who followed them closely all admitted that Yamada hasn't been much in the centre anymore. Spotlight is gradually spreading to every member equally (exclude Inoo, yeah, he has other thing to focus on after all), even Keito who used to appear very awkward in front of camera.
brenda000 7th-May-2012 08:34 am (UTC)
Well, tbh, yeah I haven't wathed their recent performance yet because I've bee busy. Since I see many people agreeing on the others receiving more limelight, I'll just wait and see it for myself.
I agree that Keito has been able to open up better on camera. But I think I'm still not over the lack of Inoo screentime in their Super Delicate PV. He practically appeared solo like 2 seconds.
gray_fairy 7th-May-2012 02:09 pm (UTC)
+1
Totally agree. When I saw the April Shokura performances I was surprised because Yamada wasn't that much in the center and almost all of them got spotlight. And even in this Vampire performance, he's in the back while Inoo is in the front, so I'm kinda getting sick of the whole "Yamada is always in the center, he sucks", because it's not like that anymore, and I also don't think he's gonna ruin the JUMPBand for showing his skill with the sax in this tour. People is always bashing him and it's not fair, tbh.
kobachan 8th-May-2012 03:21 am (UTC)
The thing is that when Jump's fans are starting to stop complaining about Yamada, the matter is being stirred up again by some indifferent people who don’t really care and keep holding on to the impression they have of the group back in 2009, 2010. They keep asking the very old things like “why does he get all the spotlight?” despite they’re well aware that they haven’t bothered to spend time watching the boys properly. Seriously, this is suck! Throw a stone then leave others to clean their mess, wth.
Oh yeah, in recent SC shows, he was nothing other than a co-host. And this boy does know when it's place for him to show off, when it's not. He kept himself in the border, stayed behind and was quiet, thank God he's sensible.
Who said he would ruin Jumpband? Shit. What the hell is wrong with their brain!? They think they're better than all the producers, managers and Johnny combined together!? They won't do anything to ruin just anything! Okay, I shouldn't get worked up over stuff like this.
Let's hope he can fit in Jumpband because otherwise, Im afraid they will produce performances for him, alone. They won't train him to this state to let his skill go waste.
gray_fairy 8th-May-2012 02:48 pm (UTC)
I noticed that people who complain about Yamada now aren't that much into HSJ and still have that image of 2009/10, because really, you can see that the group fortunately isn't Yamada&backdancers anymore and all of them are having decent screentime lately. Just look at SUMMARY 2011 or Shokuras. And it's not like he hog the attention or anything. He's often accused of being a camwhore but I don't see it. The attention is given to him like they do with KitaFujiTama in Kisumai but nobody accuse them of being camwhores like they do with Yamada. I guess many people who aren't familiarized with HSJ have the image of him being a sexy/cool guy and they think he's cold and full of himself, but that's because they don't bother to see the off-stage stuff where you can clearly see that the boy is really sweet and nice.

I couldn't believe the sax thing either, but some people think that he wants to steal the spotlight to the usual members of JUMPBand, though I think he's not gonna be permanent there and they only introduce him because well, he's being learning for 2 years and wanted to show his skills, not stealing spotlight to anyone.

shimukendou 6th-May-2012 08:05 am (UTC)
Bakaleya6 is with them? Oh joy! My Juri and Jesse bbs! And oh~ So it's still and Asian Tour, I see. Still miffed that they cancelled the Bangkok concert. When's the Taiwan and Korea leg? Last I heard, the Taiwan concert was moved to another date.
gray_fairy 6th-May-2012 11:45 am (UTC)
I admire Yamada for learning to play such a beautiful instrument like the sax and try always new things, but I was sure that he was going to get shit for this. IMO, he isn't stealing spotlight to anyone and the group is much more balanced now than in 2010-2011.
pinky_fairy10 6th-May-2012 02:03 pm (UTC)
ALL I WANT IS A DVD JOHNNY. :(
Sadly, I can't go to their concert :(
