Kis-My-Ft2’s Tamamori Yuta to participate in ‘Living on 10,000 yen for a month’ project

On May 17th, it was announced that Tamamori Yuta from Kis-My-Ft2 will be participating in the “Living on 10,000 yen for 1 month” project on TV Asahi’s variety program ‘Ikinari! Ougon Densetsu‘. He is the first talent from Johnny’s Jimusho to participate in this project.

Living on 10,000 yen for 1 month” project is one that features participants surviving on 10,000 yen for a month. The 10,000 yen encompasses living costs including their food and utilities. When the month is over, the person with the most money left over is the winner of this challenge.

Besides Tamamori, talent Gal Sone and Takahashi Shigeo from duo Savanna will also be taking part in this challenge.

Tamamori, who has never tried cooking nor buying food for he lives at his parents house, reportedly struggles with this project.

Gal Sone who has an experience with this project, tries recipes that provide a large amount yet still low in calories, while a tragic accident happens to other contestant Takahashi.

‘Ikinari! Ougon Densetsu’ airs every Thursday at 7:00 pm. The episodes featuring Tamamori will air starting from May 31st for several weeks.

gigabytexx 17th-May-2012 04:53 am (UTC)
waylt that's the minimum salary in here ;w;
But it's Japan. Is it possible to eat 100yen at once and 3 times a day for a month? O.o
ichigo_kurimu 17th-May-2012 05:42 am (UTC)
It can be ~ You just need to learn how to use the ingredients economically. (Is that even the right word? XD)

Eating out is probably what costs the most money, but if you cook at home maybe?
I've caught the "Living on 10,000yen" show a few times. Some of these contestants have been able to it very well. And it's not just about eating lettuce everyday either. ^^

Good luck to Tamamori

I've seen this when michishige sayumi was on it. The comedian guy she was against was hilarious. The meals he created were a bit unique.. and ngl looked like they would clog my arteries. Also I don't think I really needed to see that guy bathe lol. Sayu's cooking looked totally awesome. She was pretty regal too. It a pretty interesting show. Can't wait to see how he survives off of 10,000 yen for a month.

oh, I thought this was going to be some social justice project aimed to bring awareness to those who must live on such a monthly budget- but this is interesting too. I can see a lot of funny moments happening as well as some good learning experiences. Anyone know where I can watch this?
miiss_hachiiko 17th-May-2012 05:12 am (UTC)
This'll be nice to watch. XD Good Luck Tama~!

Strangely, enough... I wanted to see Audrey's Kasuga-san on there. xD If he was on that show, I'm putting my money on him.
ichigo_kurimu 17th-May-2012 05:43 am (UTC)
Oh he's done this challenge before. I never caught the end, but he seemed to have done pretty well.

omg I could have never lived on 10,000 yen a month for food and utilities. Food, okay, I did that anyway (not counting splurges eating out) but definitely not utilities. My gas bills alone during the winter were 12,000 yen a month just to run the damn heater a couple hours a day to keep from freezing to death o_O
senshicalico 17th-May-2012 11:23 pm (UTC)
nope. Just outrageous gas prices. My friend on the other side of town paid 8000 yen a month to heat her Leo Palace a couple hours a day.

They had raised the prices again just as I moved out. (electric on the other hand was dirt cheap.)
kyotaku 17th-May-2012 09:47 am (UTC)
including their food and utilities? Which utilities? Because unless they eat everything raw and unwashed and cease all activities with the sunset, the utilities only will accumulate to about 10000 yen a month O.o
tomoeicemaiden 17th-May-2012 11:38 am (UTC)
Contestants in the past have significantly shortened their shower time, wrapped foil around light bulbs, attained water from other places and unplugged their fridge and other appliances the last week or so before the contest ends so there are a few (extreme) ways to cut down your utility bill. It's surprising how many tips you can learn from the show.
kyotaku 17th-May-2012 12:56 pm (UTC)
wow unplugging the fridge is a bit extreme XD
Guess I will continue to be happy with mine 40000yen spend on utilities and food a month XD
breathless31 17th-May-2012 10:07 am (UTC)
I could never, I live on like 60 000 yen minimum a month excluding my rent and I'm trying to save money lol
kyokutan 17th-May-2012 11:42 am (UTC)
After I've paid my rent, I live on 10,000 yen (100€) every month.
It sucks being a poor student -.-'
So I'm gonna be watching this to get some tips on how to survive x)
arara_chan 17th-May-2012 11:54 am (UTC)
Ahahaha that's interesting! :D
I should watch it to get a few tips how to live cheaply, when I'm moving out in a few months xD
Will someone upload it subbed? :)
chicemj 17th-May-2012 01:25 pm (UTC)
i'll watch anything with tama-chan in it..gambarre!!
dorkylifestyle 17th-May-2012 02:13 pm (UTC)
while a tragic accident happens to other contestant Takahashi
What happened?? =s

I'm applying to study in Kyoto, hopefully I'll get to go and use some tips from Tama-cahn ;)
raatkerani 17th-May-2012 03:28 pm (UTC)
10,000 yen...?
if it's only food, electricity, water, and gas, it is possible on paper.
still healthy food; cabbage, carrots, bean sprouts, enoki mushroom, natto, dried wakame, eggs, and white product frozen food are cheap.... i lived on 1000yen for 1 week on food before. still enough water for hygiene... very sparse electricity and gas use, though ...
but it's definitely difficult to do ... takes a lot of discipline and definitely no internet use other than on free wi-fi spots.

will try to catch with this series. looks interesting.

My friend and I were just joking about how before we got cars and started working we could live off 100 us dollars. But thats with our parents paying for food and everything else lol.
But 10000 yen = 126 us dollars That sounds extreme for food for the month. They are going to crave meat before the 15th of the month.
dollfacesaori 17th-May-2012 09:59 pm (UTC)
i think tama-chan is becoming a good actor, but as himself, he's so cutely awkward XDDD that'd be fun to watch!!
booboobooboo99 18th-May-2012 02:42 am (UTC)
Teehee, he's so cute. GL BB!!

Honestly, it's a shame he's so skinny already though ... :\

i love ougon densetsu! this is one of my fav segment of this show :D yayyy!
zjialing 18th-May-2012 03:52 am (UTC)
10.000yen means 1.000.000 in rupiah.
A month with 1.000.000, surely I won't even survive more than 3 weeks.
Ganbatte ne participant. XD
Eat instant noodles~!
