Ohno Satoshi semi-nude 'anan' cover is an attempt to appeal to gays?

Recent issue no. 1811 of popular sexy magazine “an an” featured Arashi’s Riida Ohno Satoshi on the cover. Unlike his fellow members Matsumoto Jun and Sho Sakurai, who showed their butt and butt cracks, Ohno’s photo shoot turned-out to be more laid back.

Johnny’s-Watcher reported that photographer Leslie Kee, known for his nude/semi-nude photographs and his closeness to Ayumi Hamasaki, is gay; therefore, his collaboration with "an an" for Ohno has been made to make it more gay-appealing.

Kee also worked with Jin Akanishi before for “Super Jin Akanishi” photo exhibit, the exhibit is more laid back compared to Jin’s “an an” issue. Nevertheless, it has the same elements like from Ohno photo shoot. Like the “bathtub pose” and “after-shower look”.

According to source, Leslie Kee created that type of photo-shoot to make them more appealing to gays since most gays hate Johnny’s talents. Johnny’s talents collaboration with Kee would surely make them more popular around Shinjuku Ni-Chome area.

Idk if they made it to appeal to gay men or rather to reflect Ohno's personality, but the part about gays hating JE is very much true.

When looking at it socially, two girls together are a very different thing. Females are supposed to be loving of each other, even exchange kisses and such. I don't think you can really compare these two... Although the thing itself is, if not the same, equally problematic. While kissing and touches for the fun of it are okay, it's not good fun anymore when you decide as a woman to live as a lesbian, so, basically it's the same, yes. I don't think feelings of disreguard towards fanservice would be too strong, though. While it might be disturbing to some, girls generally have to deal with much more basic things.

I can only speak for myself, I'm not particularly disturbed by it. It's just a sales thing, so... whatever. But then, I don't live in Japan, so what do I know?

i see.. haha i view it as the two same thing. I mean girls and boys kissing/touching each other. It's just weird if I say that the girls gg at it with each other is normal compared to boys O_O

well, for the part of it, fanservices is done not only in japan but also america etc. To get fangirls i guess (and fanboys).

all i understand is, almost all country goes for fanservices and some can be right at your face kind ( even though some even married =.= ) so i don get why jap seems to be anal abt it.

but like u said, i too don live in jap so i won really understand their culture. XD

Well, I know what you mean. In the end, it is the same thing, of course. As for me, when two people like each other and thus touch each other, it's always a beautiful thing. Sad fact is, though, that society much more easily accepts "girl-interaction".

LOL! Seriously? I've never seen American idols going at it like JE boys. And nobody does it where I live.

When looking at the problems homosexual people have in Japan, I find it understandable that people, who are the victim of discrimination, find it disturbing that such marketing exists. Japan is a sad bad example in concerns of gay rights. *sighs* There should be more love in this world. :D

haha well, whilst jap are more to skinship, the westerns are more to innuedos. of cos they do those ass-grabbing kinds. and it's not just boybands, some actors too do that. ( do i even nd to mention koreans?? cos their fanservices are just as brutal XD )

well, one direction is one of the grps that offers fanservices. not even a fan but i saw enough gifs and images on tumblr to know lol

judging by how many transvetite are on the TV and the nublers of yaoi fans from japan, frankly i was shocked to know that homosexuality is actually frown upon there O_o

i can't agree more. ^^
I meant, as a fangirl , i have to admit that i like those 'fanservice'. especially on stage.
Like while seeing Ohmiya/Juntoshi touching each other, as long as it's just for selling, it doesn't matter right?
If the gays are disturbed of it being a joke, they should feel ashamed, coz they didn't fight for it.
like gay couple in amerika (ex: neil patrick harris+david burtka).
they can be as lovey dovey as they want to be, coz they've worked hard to make gay-interraction something not to be embarrased abt.
and as a result, people accept it..

well, i don't live in japan, but as i too live in asia, i think asian countries could have an open mind as well as amerika do..

Most grown women dislike AKB48 regardless of sexuality, lol.
