Blood-C Film's Long, 'Unpleasant' Promo Streamed

The film distributor Shochiku began streaming a long promotional video for Blood-C: The Last Dark film on Friday. The four-minute video begins with a warning about the "extreme imagery" that may cause "unpleasant feelings" in some audience members.

Manga creator team CLAMP developed the story and original character designs for the earlier Blood-C television series and this upcoming film. Production I.G animated both projects, but Naoyoshi Shiotani (Tokyo Marble Chocolate, key animator on Blood+ and Blood-C) directed the film instead of the television version's director Tsutomu Mizushima. Writers Jun'ichi Fujisaku and Nanase Ohkawa (CLAMP), animation character designer/chief animation director Kazuchika Kise, and voice cast members Nana Mizuki (Saya Kisaragi) and Kenji Nojima (Fumito Nanahara) all returned from the television series.

The film already premiered in theaters across Japan on May 21, and Yahoo! Japan streamed the first eight minutes. Niconico, the English version of the online video service Nico Nico Douga, streamed the television series outside of Japan as it aired. The Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal will screen the film this summer.

O_O How did I miss this? I think I need to take a look! Not usually into this kind of thing, but it's CLAMP mixed with elements of horror so I'm curious.

I know Q_____Q It sucks so much!
But I have a feeling that maybe the want to get rid of loose ends, so maybe they'll really do it. People have been pressuring them quite a bit too.

Fuck Blood-c.

If you liked Blood+ you really cannot like this useless thing.

I watched Blood C with so MUCH expectations, having waited so long for a continuation of the original storyline... And Clamp came up and ruined everything. I used to love them, but after they butchered the Blood series, I really lost most of my respect towards them.
I want Haji back ;______;

mte - at least the plot twist at the end of Blood-C made it more interesting than 'lala let me sing songs while walking to school' but I was so excited for this show and then it was just terrible.
marice_r 23rd-Jun-2012 06:53 pm (UTC)
agreed. I thought 'wow Clamp plus Saya from Blood. this is going to be amazing!' didn't turn out that way at all lol
atelierlune 23rd-Jun-2012 10:16 pm (UTC)
But I don't know if I like Blood+. The translation is terrible, I keep waiting for Saya's brothers to bite the dust, but I love Haji, and he may be the only reason that I keep watching.

they should have known what they were going to get themselves into once they released Blood-C...I don't think this is disturbing it's fucking Japan, they're known for their great horror movies
marice_r 23rd-Jun-2012 06:51 pm (UTC)
I thought I wouldn't be excited for this film after watching Blood-C because it was very disappointing, but now after watching the trailer, I'm actually intrigued now. Plus, I get to see Watanuki again :3
atelierlune 23rd-Jun-2012 10:16 pm (UTC)
I haven't seen this much blood/body horror in an anime in a while. And to be honest it actually feels pretty good.
nyappnyappcafe 24th-Jun-2012 12:08 am (UTC)
Can they not.
The series was bad enough, now the movie.
If they weren't going to do a continuation of Blood+'s story line (which really wouldn't have been necessary), they should have left the Blood series alone. Still confused as to why they even handed it over to Clamp.

Forever loving Blood: The Last Vampire and Blood+. Blood-C can kick rocks with open toed shoes.
