On Thursday, the morning television program Mezamashi Terebi presented the newest footage from Gekijō-ban Tiger & Bunny -The Beginning-, the first of two anime films based on Sunrise's Tiger & Bunny television anime series. The footage includes part of "Linear Blue o Kikinagara," the new theme song that Unison Square Garden, the rock band behind the television anime's first theme song, contributed for the film.
The full trailer will run in theaters starting this Saturday. The film itself will open in Japan on September 22.
Update: In the second part of the segment, Yū Kawanishi, a publicist for the film, said that the action and battle scenes appeal to the male audience, while the female audience watch for the relationship between the main leads Kotetsu and Barnaby, distilled from the 25 episodes of the television series.
Update 2: Masayuki Ozaki, a producer for Tiger & Bunny at the anime studio Sunrise, revealed during the Tiger & Bunny panel at Anime Expo on Saturday that a new NEXT character will appear in the first film. Original character designer Masakazu Katsura created the character.
