Oh Happy Day: New Sailor Moon Anime for 2013

This just in: At a Sailor Moon 20th anniversary talk event at Nicofare in Japan (Nico live link here), series creator Naoko Takeuchi announced that the Soldier of Love herself would be gracing the TV screens of Japanese anime fans in 2013 via a new, remade anime series. Momoiro Clover Z (Moretsu Pirates) will preform the opening theme song to the new series.

Although the geek idol group is currently in France for Japan Expo 2012, the organisers of the Sailor Moon talk event had the Momoiro Clover Z girls perform the opening theme – as well as their other hit songs – and streamed it over to the Japanese audience gathered at Nicofare.

The new anime series, simply titled “美少女戦士セーラームーン” (Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon) is currently slated for the Summer 2013 TV anime season.</p>

Originally serialised from 1992 to 1997 in Kodansha’s Nakayoshi manga magazine, Sailor Moon was a hit – in particular with the teenage girls demographic – and has since been adapted into various anime series, video games, and even live-action musicals and a TV drama.

Edit: The tweet is suspect after talking to my friend. It might still be targeted to kids, but something that even older fans can enjoy.

Yeah, but I'm pretty sure that blog is just plain wrong. MomoKuroZ weren't even in Japan at the time, they were in France and the JapanExpo for their own concert, so it makes sense they did they're newest single, they also performed Moonlight Densetsu too, so. It's just that, even after I pointed out that the single has been on sale even before the annoucement that there'd even BE a new SM and other sources saying that it's not the theme song, they're still like, "BUT SO AND SO SAID SOOOOO, WE CAN NEVER BE SURE." Someone's also pointed out that one of the tracks on the single is also the new ED for Pokemon, so, yeah.

OMG, I'M ALREADY IN JAPAN. I'M GOING BACK TO THE US THIS SUMMER AND I'M GOING TO BE PICKING UP THE FIRST HALF OF MY SM COMICS, SO I CAN READ ALL THEM OVER AGAIN. BUT, IT WILL ALL BE MINE, ALL OF IT!!!

I'm also going to work my way through the anime in Japanese again, because I actually haven't seen all of it.

Are you ME??? I can't bring myself to finish StarS because then it would really be OVER.

WHYYYYYY did I move back to the US??? I miss Japan so much (I was there for FOUR YEARS).

Hopefully, my friends would love me so much and would buy me stuff because I'm a sad panda.

I have seen the last episode! But, that was it! I downloaded a RealPlayer fansub on our 128K Modem, my mom was pissed.

I've only ever read the manga in whole and watched PGSM all the way through too!

I've been here for 5 years now and I haven't found any reasons to go back, mostly because I have a JOB here.

If they don't buy you stuff, I WILL! No one should be denied SM Merch, NO ONE.

My job was slowly sucking the soul out of my body... And I knew I could never get married because of the crazy hours...

I remember waiting anxiously each week for the next PGSM episode. They did such an amazing job with it.

Oh god, PGSM, it started off so LULZ and then became this epic thing that owned my soul. It's so good, it's version of Mamoru and Usagi's relationship is my favorite, TBH. (I also believe they made Rei and Minako so shippy to make up for the lack of Michiru and Haruka...)

I once had an arguement with my friend over which ver. of SM this girl was cosaplaying, she was convienced that it was a SeraMyu ver. because the others in her group were. And I was like, SHE'S PRINCESS SM FROM PGSM, SHE'S COVERED IN PEARLS AND HAS A TIARA. And she was like, NO SHE'S NOT. and I'm like, BITCH YOU DIDN'T WATCH PGSM, HOW THE FUCK WOULD YOU KNOW? Of course, in the end I won, because, you don't mess with me when it comes to SM.

IKR! It was the horribly cheesy transformation sequences. But then it story just took over and it was just... Wow...

LOL! I'm also FIERCE when it comes down to SM. No one tries to beat me anymore.

This just made my day.

UGH, I feel so lame because is was in COLLEGE when this came out, but I don't care, PGSM ROCKED! And, it was so much closer to the manga in spirit.

SM is the whole reason I got into to Japan, so it holds a very, very dear place in my heart.

I love that Komatsu has been popping up back in dramas again, I just wish I could find out what Miyuu has been up too.

LOL, my college roomie and I HATED my uni, so we just stay inside and watch our dramas.

Sailor Moon was my reason to learn Japanese too! All my Japanese friends thought it was so cute. But I used to watched it dubbed in Chinese.

My uni was great, I just managed to have a really awesome schedule that allowed to do things like watch 10 episodes of Hikaru no Go a day and what not.

My mom used to tape SM for me in the morning and my little bro. and I used to watch after school. (And then it switched from USA to Cartoon Network, which my town didn't until YEARS later and I was forever pressed about it.)

I used to go through anime series like nothing. Good times.

I remember getting up at 6:30 before school and watching it. My mom was just glad I got up with out a fuss.

I wonder if Cartoon Network is showing it again since they are reviving Toonami.

It was major bonding for my bro. and I, after they got Mars, we spents weeks bitching because Jupiter and Venus weren't showing up and we just wanted the whole team to be together.

I wonder if they might, especially since the new one will probably be streamed at the same time for non-Japanese viewers as it airs in Japan. Or something. It'd be a great move on their part to show the original.
