First "Btooom!" Anime Promo

title or description

Victor Entertainment's Flying Dog anime music label began streaming a promotional video for MADHOUSE's television anime adaptation of Junya Inoue's Btooom! survival action manga.

The video features Nano's opening theme song "No Pain, No game," and it reveals that May'n is contributing the ending theme song "Aozora" (Blue Skies). It also reveals part of the cast:

Kanata Hongou as Ryūta Sakamoto
Suzuko Mimori as Himiko
Toru Ohkawa as Taira
Miyuki Sawashiro as Kōsuke Kira
Yūichi Nakamura as Oda

The story centers around Ryūta Sakamoto, a NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) young man and a top-ranked player in the online combat game Btooom! One day, he wakes up on a tropical island without remembering how he got there. He sees a figure in the distance and asks for help. However, the figure responds by throwing something at Ryūta — a "BIM" bomb.

First-time series director Kotono Watanabe (episode director on Chihayafuru, Aoi Bungaku Series, Puella Magi Madoka Magica) is helming the project, and Yousuke Kuroda (Best Student Council, Hayate the Combat Butler, Hellsing, Highschool of the Dead, Mobile Suit Gundam 00) is writing the scripts. In addition to creating Btoom!, Inoue also created the Otogi Matsuri manga.

The manga launched in Shinchosha's Weekly Comic Bunch magazine in 2009 and then moved to its current home, Monthly Comic Bunch, in 2011. Shinchosha published the sixth compiled book volume in June.
