Popular idol group AKB48's new album 「１８３０ｍ」,released on Aug 15th, can be sold 625,401 units on the first day !! (It's very big sale)

Comparision with their last album Kamikyokutachi & Koko ni ita koto

Besides ,this album has initially 1.5 million units shipped exceeding 400k from their last album 「Koko ni ita koto」which was initially  1.1 million units shipped (Total sales :875,213 units)

Arashi doesn't have so many marketing gimmicks, idk about others but I buy their singles/albums for the music, unlike those who buy tons of AKB cds for the extras.

i agree arashi's music is great and leader can sing where as i akb there isnt really anyone that can sing great i mean they sing together at the same time and the song will be ok over all(dont get me wrong as i like their music but its just for fun not talent)

also +1 for the people buying tons for extras mostly for the voting part...

if you think akb members can't sing, just watch more stages. they're like any idol group, some are great at singing and some are shit.

aha. but the term you used is "artists with real talent" and let´s be honest gurl, most part of Arashi members are average at signing and dancing too.

it´s not my problem that you dislike AKB, you are entitled to dislike them and hate them if you wish. The problem here is how off your point is. it´s pure hipocrisy because I bet you didnt consider an insult Arashi´s BNMF million sales when both groups have MUSICALLY almost the same capacities, and when that album had more than one version too.
If an idol group slaying on sales is insulting to "artists with real talent" then you should be pissed at Arashi´s sales too and you surely aren't. it's hypocritical and delusional to change your "talent" parameters at the convenience of the idol group you prefer
maybe it'd be more accurate to defend all this using someone who has outstanding vocal abilities, impeccable execution of a musical instrument or is a wonderful music composer and lyricist, otherwise: SIT DOWN

I´m big enough to admit I like my idols with average music and average vocal abilities (except for some exceptions) because idols are there to entertain us and be charismatic not to be effin "talented" Mozart, so dont pretend otherwise especially when you´re comparing 2 idol groups
sorry, but as much as I´ve loved Arashi for all these years I prefer to see them as they are than deluding myself in things that arent true~

I'll just have to agree to disagree then about the musical capabilities of both groups. Despite being only 5 people, Arashi's voices sound very strong together, and their music is well composed/arranged. Also, not sure where you're seeing it in my comments, but I never "defended" my opinion with an idol group, but I could give an example of someone with "talent" if it's really necessary...

the point of this discussion is not vocal abilities (we can write 1,000 comments here and never agree cause there is a level of subjectivity there) the point is that you consider an "insult to talented artists" that an idol group sells more than anyone but when it is the idol group you like it is not.
the point here is hipocrisy

It's not hypocrisy, because I also find it unfair that Arashi can sell so much just because they are JE idols, while it's hard for other artists to reach their sales.

unfair is not "insulting"

it´s quite a strong word and by using it, ironically you are insulting them (and their work) and ppl who like their music.
putting them in the insulting category is treating them like inferior to other idol groups with similar achievements.

still, I dont believe you dont feel happy everythime Arashi has a million seller (even tho in the back of your mind you know this domination by only 2 groups is unfair)
feeling happy for one while feeling the other is insulting, even if you dont like them, smells like hipocrisy o matter how you put it.

I should have worded my comment differently then, to avoid misunderstanding. Insulting was a bad choice of a word on my part.
