AKB48 Music Station appearance ends in tears

AKB48's appearance on this week' Music Station was the last to feature group centre Maeda Atsuko, who graduates on August 27th.
During the programme, AKB48 reminisced on the groups history, including their first Music Station appearance to promote 'Skirt, Hirari' in 2006. They also performed a single medley of 'Flying Get', 'Ponytail to Shushu' and new song 'Yume no Kawa'. 'Yume no Kawa' will be Acchan's last song with the group, and the members were so overwhelmed they couldn't control their tears, with Acchan breaking down and crying during the performance.

The 27th you say? Thank god; this graduation biz has been longer than Kuu's pregnancy and almost as long as the Jin/Meisa saga. Just get it over with already.

Thank you for saying this

Then we can enjoy all the after-graduation promo Acchan will get and seeing her up on the big screen and on tv. I hope some station like NTV, FujiTV, NHK or TVAsahi make a documentary or drama about her life story =D

Nothing against her and AKB. The more dragged out this gets the less sincere it seems, in my humble opinion. I think we all expect news/specials of her afterwards of course, I just wish her graduation announcement could've been made later :)
tomoeicemaiden 18th-Aug-2012 04:34 pm (UTC)
Not to mention her future work! I'm actually more looking forward to that than anything else tbh.
liime_arix 18th-Aug-2012 06:41 pm (UTC)
I'm excited, she has potential and she has improved between last year and now, imo.
liime_arix 18th-Aug-2012 05:28 pm (UTC)
In actuality it's more like news sites are clingy onto everything as the last handshake event, Msta performance, etc. Because the company hasn't milked it half as much as I expected them to.

You so cute.

She wanted to graduated earlier, but they kept talking her out of it, and for a graduation announcement is NOT that long, Mano Erina is going to graduate in January 2013 from H!P and she announced it back on June/July, even so, Acchan HAD to make the announcement quite earlier so her agency and AKB48 agency could put a stop on her AKB48 schedule that was already packed as hell, I don't know if you knew but for example to play instruments in Give me 5 They had been practicing since June last year.

So no, it doesn't sound less sincere.

I'm so sorry to hear about your grandma. May she rest in peace :(
ryocchi 20th-Aug-2012 06:24 am (UTC)
She's crying because AKB48 has been part of her life for the last 7 years and parting with it is difficult?, God, what's wrong with you?
captxfizz 18th-Aug-2012 08:44 am (UTC)
Goddamn these tears be streaming out of me faster than I can handle D:
saraufc 18th-Aug-2012 12:29 pm (UTC)
If this was a boygroup who had cried because someone was leaving, I bet there'd be no one complaining about it, everyone would all be "crying together".
Im not even an AKB fan, but a member leaving is always a sad thing, I dont think it's nice to treat her tears as if it was nothing or she shouldn't cry for "such a small thing". Of course it isn't the hardest problem someone can face, but her situation sure is worth the tears, please dont belittle it.

I'm such a sucker for this kind of thing. Although I don't really follow AKB48, I had to watch it and cry together~

too tough to watch.

Can you imagine what the actual final graduation ceremony ceremony will be like? This is just Music Station, and she still has a week to go! I predict fainting and hard core sobbing.

I believe it was a touching performance and the feelings of the members were conveyed. For those who say "why are they crying" well people cry for many things in life and "graduation" is one of them. Of course it's not sadder than someone passing away, but its a new chapter in life. These members are very busy, and Atsuko will be as well, meaning they won't see eachother as often as they did since it'd be hard. The fact that someone they've been with for many years, & will only now be able talk to them rarley is the reason they cry, but they're happy for her of course. Their grad is similar to our schooling grads. Friends i've been with for many years I rarley see now since we're studying in different countries and I can only talk to them online and barley see them, so its not the same as before. So i don't think their tears are pointless. I have respect for AKB & wish them all luck in their careers :)

My tears...oh my tears T_____T
I can't believe I actually hated this girl.
I wanted her to graduate so badly in the past, but I take it all back.

not a fan in the least, but that was pitiful watching her crying while trying to sing the last song. Sad.
