Yamada Ryosuke, Hey! Say! First Solo Debut

Popular member of Hey! Say! JUMP, Yamada Ryosuke‘s solo debut has been decided.

Debut song “Mistery Virgin” will be the theme song of NTV’s drama SP “Kindaichi Case Files: Hong Kong Kowloon Treasure Murder Case” where Yamada challenges the role of a high school detective. A song with a mysterious atmosphere, a drifting dance number and lyrics to match perfectly with the image of the drama.

Up until now he has performed in concerts alone and as a member of Hey! Say! JUMP, although he has shown his talent in singing and dancing before, this is the first time to perform an original solo song which will be released as a CD.

JUMP’s first attempt as solo artist, Yamada, “I’m glad I can do this in such a memorable occasion (60th Broadcasting Anniversary of NTV), though this has always been something in my dreams, I’m overjoyed”, he happily said.

Currently working in Tokyo Imperial Theater as part of the main cast of “JOHNNY’S World”, dedicated to commemorate Mr. Johnny Kitagawa (81) Guinness Certification Memorial. “I want to keep working hard and devoting myself as Hey! Say! JUMP’s Yamada Ryosuke”, he vowed.

His debut performance as solo artist will be held live in NTV’s music festival “Best Artist 2012″ to be broadcasted in November 28th (7PM). The single will be released in January 9th, 2013.

Ohno had a solo release before for his drama but then again, it was a double release with the group single. And Takaki did sing solo for Gokusen 3 but I'm not sure it was a CD release or not.

Congrats, Yamada! I'm not too worried but who knows, he might have a change of heart in the future. For now, let's be pragmatic. The way I see it, he looks out more for his group(s) than his own behind. He cares (sometimes too much) of what people think of him and the last thing he wanna is to let them down. I just hope he won't be stretched too thin from all sides. (Personally, I wish they would dissolve NYC. Two out of three members are already in another group so just let Yuma debut solo already).

Agree. Yamada is sooo sensitive. I don't think he's willing to/ can handle the backlash if he leaves. He wants HsJ to do well at the same time he wants NYC to stand on its own and be able to to do NYC concerts instead of just tag along with HsJ. I hope he takes it easy. He's under so much pressure right now.

that actually sounds worrisome. priority is key. i don't think he can expect to pull off both HSJ and NYC full time, not mentioning his solo now. His wanting to do everything and not being able to make decision could hurt him in the long run. well he's so young. and it's a popular boy's problem, which is in a way a good thing i suppose =p
