Arama They Didn't

Idol group Momoiro Clover Z just made their long-cherished dream come true by appearing on NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen, appeared on “momocloTV” via Ustream which aired on January 1st starting on 8:10 am. During the show, the group revealed that their new goal would be to hold a live concert at the National Olympic Stadium.

On December 27th, Momoclo posted a banner on their official site that said “Big announcement on the New Year’s day” which caused an uproar among the fans, and also the girls appeared on the rehearsal for Kohaku wearing red T-shirts that said “Celebration • First appearance on Kohaku Uta Gassen, and now…” on its front, and “35.678067,139.714894″ on its back. With a hint given by a person concerned, it became clear that the mysterious numbers were the longitude and latitude for the stadium.

During the live streaming, Momoclo made rounds around their memorable places riding on an open top double-decker bus, and they made the final stop at the National Olympic Stadium. The leader, Momota Kanako said, “There were rumors that we would change our group name, or that Takagi Reni would leave the group, or even that we would be disbanding, but nothing of the sort! Momoclo can’t stop here. The Kohaku’s stage was just a passing point of our dream.” Then she stated to the fans who gathered there by foreseeing, “We declare to hold a live concert at this National Olympic Stadium in front of us, someday for sure.”, and received big cheers from the fans.

The National Olympic Stadium has a capacity of 60,000 ~ 70,000 which is more than the Tokyo Dome, and SMAP, DREAMS COME TRUE, Arashi, and L’Arc~en~Ciel are the only ones who have held a live concert there. The stadium will be dismantled during in July of 2014 ~ October of 2015, and start construction for the new stadium after that. It is planned that the new one will be completed in March of 2019. Therefore, they don’t have much time left before the rebuilding, as Momota said, “I’m not sure if we would be able to do it this year, or 5 years later, or when it would be.” However, the group is now aiming for a live concert at the stadium. If they reach the goal, they will be the youngest and first female idol group to hold a live concert there (at this moment).

Momoclo also announced that a member Ariyasu Momoka would not be able to do any utterance-activities including singing for a month starting on the 5th in order to get the treatment for her vocal cords. Ariyasu said, “I just won’t be able to utter a voice, so I will be participating in events somehow. Everybody, please watch over me.”

It was also announced that they were planning to release a new album in spring.
