Kimura Takuya Wins for Most Contribution to Japanese Dramas

Yesterday was the 57th anniversary of television broadcast in Japan. To celebrate the occasion, Japanese website Oricon Style created a poll to see which celebrities made the most contributions to television. SMAP's Kimura Takuya won the most votes in the actor category. In fact, ever since 1993's Asunaro Hakusho, Kimutaku has had a string of hit dramas, including memorable roles in Long Vacation and Beautiful Life. He is very deserving of the award. In the singer's category, 'Showa's Songstress' Misora Hibari was voted first. In the comedian category, Downtown, the comedic duo comprised of Matsumoto Hitoshi and Hamada Masatoshi placed first. Many voters even complimented them for being revolutionaries in the comedy world. The most contribution by a television host went to Tamori, the host of two long-running television shows, Music Station and Waratte Iitomo.

She's arguably one of the most famous Japanese singers of all time. As a Johnny's fan, you might know her song Omatsuri Mambo. Subaru from K8 once sang this on a NHK special, and it was covered by the JE group Ninja and subsequently many juniors/former juniors have performed it.

Kimura wins in the actor/actress category is almost a given. He's the king of J-dorama after all. But I'm more happy with Nakai making the top 10 of the talk show host/MC. He's now right up there with all those veteran hosts. <3

I like Sanma more than Tamori.
Sanma has a better sense of humor judging from when NEWS' Masuda guested on this talk show with string of ditzy answers about hippos and elephants.

Idk, but I've always found Tamori to be rather boring. Kind of surprised that Beat Takeshi is ranked below Downtown (although I love Downtown more), and Tunnels is so low.

Well, but it's not the "best" list, it's the biggest contribution, so like, the most influential, I guess? I think it's a bit early to say for Arashi, since they've only recently achieved this crazy level of popularity, but SMAP's influence in pop culture is undeniable. Heck, I've seen them mentioned in textbooks.

It's a bit weird to see Mizushima Hiro at number 10. I can't think of any influential contribution he has there as an actor, sorry. (unless becoming the most popular ex-Kamen Rider is enough contribution...)

I'm so happy Momoe chan is in the top 10. ♥ She was such a wonderful person, great singer and a real star.
I think I'd have voted her or Sawada Kenji.

And yay for Matsuda Yusaku in the actors list (<-mad crush XD; I prefer him to either of his sons lol)

And I love Tamori, like so much. I want him to be my undle or something XDD
