Hasegawa Jun talks about “bridal training” and Hawaii during smartphone lounge event

Model Hasegawa Jun attended an opening ceremony for the smartphone lounge, “MEDIAS BLACK LOUNGE Produced by GLAMOROUS“, on September 13th.

Back in July, Hasegawa announced her engagement to a non-celebrity from Hawaii. With a big smile, Hasegawa revealed that she is undergoing ‘bridal training’, saying, “Lately, I’ve been doing my best with cooking,” and continued, “I don’t have any specialty dishes yet, but… I lived in Hawaii, so I can make things like spam musubi. Although that’s not considered cooking.”

Wearing a sexy black dress, Hasegawa said, “Lately, I like clothes that are comfortable and simple.” She also shared that during her private time, she takes Yoga classes, and showed off her athletic side saying, “It’s a small wave in Waikiki, but when I go home to Hawaii, I go surfing.”

At the event, Hasegawa presented an original panel for her smart phone, designed in the image of Hawaii. She expressed, “This year marks the 10th year since I came to Japan from Hawaii. I casually think about Hawaii.” Hasegawa showed her strong feelings for her home state saying, “Playing at the beach, climbing trees… When I think of those kind of things, I am given power. It’s an important place.”

The lounge will be open from September 14th to the 18th at Omotesando, Tokyo in commemoration of the release of Docomo Smart Phone “MEDIAS WP N-06C’s” new color ‘Royal Black’.

Actress Kuriyama Chiaki has been added to the cast of the “SPEC” movie that will be released next year, starring Toda Erika and Kase Ryo.
The “SPEC” drama series aired during the fall of 2010. This past July, it was revealed that the show will get a theatrical movie in the spring of 2012, and a special television episode will air before that.
Toda and Kase are reprising their roles as Toma and Sebumi, two police detectives who deal with unnatural cases involving people who possess special powers known as SPECs. Kuriyama will play the part of Aoike, an unmarried mother who was once part of the SIT police unit that Sebumi led. After being abroad, she returned to Japan and became part of Japan’s intelligence agency CIRO. However, in order to resolve a certain case, she approaches Toma and Sebumi.
Filming for the movie has already started. Kuriyama will soon also be busy with the drama series “Himitsu Chouhouin Erika,” in which she plays a similar role as a mother and a spy who was once part of CIRO.

Junior High School Students Seek Normality

Pic unrelated. It's from the movie Confessions, which I recommend anyone see because its amazing.
"May you live in interesting times," goes the familiar curse — or as the Chinese say in a similar vein, "It's better to be a dog in times of peace than a human in times of chaos."

Unquestionably these are interesting times. It's not war, but somehow it's not peace either. Is chaos too strong a word? The weekly magazine Friday tells this story: A teacher in a girls' junior high school in Minamisoma, Fukushima Prefecture, 25 km from the Fukushima No. 1 Nuclear Power plant, handed out a questionnaire which asked: "Do you want to get married? How many children do you intend to have?"

The students were surprised, but, as Friday says, the real shock was yet to come. After collecting the papers the teacher faced his class and said, "If possible you'd better not marry or have children." One girl burst out, "Teacher, why are you saying such things?" "Do you seriously think," the teacher shot back, "that you'll be able to lead normal lives?"

Portrayal of the yakuza reveals a side never seen before

Cloaked in mystery and perhaps a certain degree of myth, the yakuza constitute one of the hardest subculture groups in Japan to infiltrate. But when Belgian photographer Anton Kusters and his brother, Malik, saw a gangster walk by as they were drinking at a bar in Tokyo's entertainment district of Kabukicho, they knew they wanted to know more.

"We were intrigued by his clothing style and polite manners," Anton said, "And it was then that we got the idea to do a photographic project following a yakuza family long term."

That might sound like an ambitious and even romantic project, but what the Kusters brothers achieved is a more realistic photographic portrayal of the yakuza than many have seen before. And it took persistence and a high degree of tact.

They were introduced to a middle man, Souichirou, by the Kabukicho bar owner, Taka, and from there it took 10 months of careful negotiation to persuade the yakuza family that controls Kabukicho to let the brothers document their lives.

SMAP in beijing

On the night of the 16th, the 5 member jpop group SMAP held their first overseas concert in Beijing's workers stadium to a large audience.

This concert had a serious undertone as it promotes cultural exchange between Japan and Chinese youths. SMAP had met with various Chinese officials and were even at the Great Hall of the People earlier that day. Several government officials also attended the concert including the Chinese ambassador to Japan.

On a lighter note, SMAP used some Chinese and Chinese slang throughout the concert and the fans were pleasantly surprised. They also sang two songs, 'Sekai hitotsu dake no hana' and 'Yozora no mukou' in Chinese, as well as a Chinese classic 'Yue liang dai biao wo de xin' (the moon represents my heart)

Model/actress Lin Chi-ling who had worked with Kimura Takuya in the drama Moon Lovers was a special guest during their MC. In the MC, members Katori Shingo and Kusanagi Tsuyoshi mentioned that during their first visit to China they climbed the great wall of China together. And not only did it strengthen their friendship but also their love. (which earned a lot of screams from fangirls lol)

Looks like 2NE1 have a chance of getting no.1, though I think the albums race will be pretty tight. And still, another weak album week, that would be 3 weeks in a row! But Avex really is good at pulling out a date with little competition. Rooting for Fujifabric and Kalafina especially.

Rooting for a lot of people in the singles chart though, especially ABC, PG, Kuu and miwa! :)
