I bet Asahi is glad that they chose AKB to endorse WONDA coffee.

Arashi’s Matsumoto Jun has been chosen to be the main MC for NihonTV’s special variety program, “Sekai Ichi no SHOW Time ~Gyara wo Kimeru no wa Anata~“!

This show began back in 2010, and it attracts people from all over the world, who  aim to show off their unique talents on stage.  300 audience members will determine how much they would be willing to pay to watch that performance, and actually pay from their own wallets in the end. As a performer himself, Matsumoto commented, “There were many wonderful performance and they were all great!“.

Commenting on his MC role, Matsumoto said, “This was a different position from when I do shows with Arashi, so I was very nervous, but it was an interesting experience.”

Announcer Hatori Shinichi, who served as Matsumoto’s co-host, commented, “He was very natural and I think this was a perfect job for Matsujun. I give him 1oo%!”

As one of the creative spearheads for Arashi’s concerts, Matsumoto felt inspired by the performances he watched. “As an entertainer I was thinking, ‘Oh so there are performances like this too!’ I feel like I was able to be on a good show.“  Hatori himself remarked, “As Matsujun observed all the performances, he kept saying ‘Ah, I can use this’. It’s a great thing for a MC to be able to watch the performances in that way.”

Model Hasegawa Jun participated as the third co-host, and Matsumoto complimented his castmate by saying, “She seemed to genuinely enjoy the performances. She gave good comments of encouragement to the performers and created good vibes on set.” Hasegawa mused,”I sensed all the love that went into all the performance, and it made me realized I have to work harder as well.”

Matsumoto concluded, “It was fun and if there is another opportunity, I would like to do it again.”

Kumi keeps it movin'

The girls of idol group NMB48 released the 4-minute version of the music video for their second single, “Oh My God!“.

The covers of the single already teased the cute cheerleading outfit and their fans were looking forward to see them in the music video.

However, at first we get to see the girls disguised as a female soccer team playing a tough match against a rival school.

The two motives of the video, the soccer team and the cheerleading squad, have both been chosen to portray the song’s theme of ‘youth’.

Perfume's new single titled "Spice" will be released on November 2nd! Including the b-side "GLITTER" which has been used for the new KIRIN CMs as well used for their special dance contest. "Spice" will be the theme song for TBS's drama "Sengyou shufu tantei ~ watashi wa shadou."

Their third album titled "JPN" is set for release on November 30th. It will include all 7 a-sides after the release of their second album "", those being Fushizen na Girl, Natural Ni Koi Shite, VOICE, Nee, Laser Beam, Kasuka na Kaori, and Spice. Plus six new songs for a total of 13 songs. The DVD will include the video clips for Spice, Natural Ni Koi Shite, a full version of Laser Beam, Kasuka na Kaori, and several TV spots for the rest.

This is the best DVD a Perfume album has had so far! omg. Also, FULL Laser Beam PV?! I'm intrigued. Just kinda disappointed we'll only get 6 new songs. Well, 7 with GLITTER though it won't be included on the album. (I'm assuming.) I'm still excited! Plus the Spice covers are gorgeous~

We recently hit the streets of Tokyo to capture some of the latest styles and hot influencers. In Japan, when hair is messy, shirts are haphazardly untucked, or even how food is arranged on a plate - it is all in the name of style.

We can partially credit all of this to a guy named Hon'ami Kouetsu, who back in the 1600's created the contemporary standard for Japanese aesthetics. His idea was that everything in daily life is a canvas for design. So, that explains why style here is calculated, composed, and designed to the max. Worshipped for their style sensibility, shop girls and boys take on near celebrity status and their hair stylists are like rock stars. Daywear, work wear, evening wear - who cares? Anything goes as long as it looks good. That is why even though Japanese street fashion is well documented, there's always something fresh to see as it's constantly reinventing itself.

The latest inspirations? These days hair is blue, bleached, burnt, anything but black. For girls, 'kawaii' is eternally in and there is a serious 80's revival too. We met Tabuchi, owner of an influential store called Spank, who goes for Care Bear chic, while shop girl Yuri flaunts metal studs in a nod to heavy metal hair bands. For every cutie striking a pose for the street snap paparazzi, there is a dark rocker look to be found not far away, like the Goth twin brothers Atsushi and Takashi who towered over all in his super stacked platform boots and long skirts - a gender bending masterpiece! Meanwhile DJ and girl about town Sioux channeled Japanese woman with a capital "W" wearing some very unique graphic tights.

Though Japan sometimes gets some slack for turning fashion into a costume contest with a style over substance approach, it is the land of stylistic freedom. Mashing-up, remixing, and sampling already existing styles, the kids here create their own vocabulary. Where else but in Tokyo are the streets a constant backdrop for style snap fashion shoots, where on a beautiful day even a park can turn into a runway.
