Maeda Atsuko to graduate after Tokyo Dome concert

On April 4th at 3 P.M. JST, AKB48’s Maeda Atsuko (20) made a formal announcement regarding her graduation and her participation in the ‘AKB48 27th Single General Election’ (to be held on June 6th at Nippon Budokan in Tokyo) through AKB48’s official YouTube channel and her Google+ page. Now, it’s been revealed that Maeda Atsuko will be official graduating from the group after AKB48’s Tokyo Dome concert.

On May 17th, Yasushi Akimoto posted the following on his Google + page:

I was able to hold a meeting with Atsuko Maeda the other day. I had passed her by in places like the studio, but did not have time to sit down and talk to her since that day in Saitama Super Area.

About AKB, her peers, her juniors, her fans, and about her own future…
Though she is not good with words, she shared her sincere thoughts with me.
I was touched to see that the shy 14 year old girl that always hid in a shell had matured into a 20 year old woman, who cared for others and shared those feelings with me.

Although she is still not good with words, because of that I felt I understood her raw and direct feelings.
And the shy expression she shows every now and again is the same “Acchan” I knew.

Anyhow, Atsuko Maeda will be graduating after the Tokyo Dome concert and the AKB theater performance on the following day. (detailed schedule will be announced on a later date.)

Good luck, Atsuko Maeda!!

The Tokyo Dome concert dates have yet to be revealed so when that is announced, we will know the exact date of her graduation.

CM of Arashi's "Beautiful World" DVD.

Last month, Arashi revealed the jacket covers and details of their upcoming live DVD ‘ARASHI LIVE TOUR Beautiful World, and now a CM for the DVD has been released by J-storm. The DVD will be released on May 23rd.

The most exciting part of the concert was when 1,300 fireworks were set off. The morning news program ‘ZIP!‘ revealed the scene, so check it out below!

Takei Emi chosen as new CM character for JTB

On May 17th, actress Takei Emi attended a CM presentation event for ‘JTB 100th Anniversary Hawaii Promotion‘ as JTB Group’s newest CM character.

JTB Group celebrated their 100 year anniversary on March 12th. To commemorate this occasion, it’s currently holding a promotion with Hawaii as its theme. The CM starring Takei Emi is one of their promotional methods, and it was made in the image of “family summer vacation”.

Takei shared, “I was at Waikiki Beach at night, blankly staring at the ocean for about an hour, and I spotted a whale. There were many miracles. I saw rainbows going to and from places. I also met about 7 sea turtles.

NINKI ratings for the week of 21/5~27/5/2012

Collapse )

Note 1:

The NINKI ratings are the results of a POLL conducted by Oricon indicating degree of interest/degree of purchase intention in an upcoming release. Although the ratings are never a true reflection of sales, it does give a strong prediction about where the single/album will place in terms of popularity amongst the Japanese public. However, they are NOT an indication of how it will perform in terms of chart positioning and total sales for the week.

Note 2:

According to Oricon's note under the NINKI page, Oricon researches about 870,000 of its members by random sampling of 400 members in their 10s until 40s. 50 men and 50 women are chosen randomly to participate in each age group. (However, some popular artists have had NINKI exceeding 500, so we can only assume that Oricon has extended the polling to around 600/700 people now.)

LOL I can see Mr.Children dominating the top 2 spots again in their 3rd week! XD

As for singles, there's no doubt AKB will top, question is, how much? And besides them, that's quite a tight race in the singles chart for 2~10. Looks exciting! Of course rooting for GLAY, Yuzu, Kana, BUCK-TICK, The Cro-magnons and YU-A. :)
