Baby Chan Chan Chankapana! Chankapana!
“Kuroki’s agency, Sweet Power is apparently going to launch a male actor’s department and the word on the street is that Akanishi might be switching to it. Filming for his Hollywood movie ’47RONIN’ has finished, and it’s due to come out in December* so he’ll probably stay in Johnny’s for the remainder of the year. But he’s thinking positively about switching agencies for the sake of his baby. However, apparently Kuroki’s agency would have to pay a huge breakup fee to Johnny’s in order to get Akanishi,” said one source.
* update: as of June 20, 47RONIN has been re-scheduled to be released in February 2013.
The June 7 edition of the weekly magazine Shukan Bunshun has reported Kuroki’s career has not been badly affected as previously feared. The actress will begin filming for NHK’s taiga drama “八重の桜 (Yae no Sakura)” in February, four months after her baby is due.
“Kuroki belongs to Sweet Power Agency, which looks after popular beauties like Rina Uchiyama and Maki Horikita. Ignoring the rules of the showbiz industry and reporting about her marriage afterwards infuriated the agency. Of course, one would usually need to make a formal apology to commercial clients and pay for damages, but Akanishi and Kuroki let is pass with a ‘what’s wrong with what we did’ attitude. It’s only expected that they would be sidelined,” said one source belonging to a major advertising agency.
However, now we are beginning to see some differences.
It has been earlier reported that Kanjani8’s Maruyama Ryuhei will have his first lead role for the upcoming drama, “Boys on the Run”. The drama is based from Kengo Hanazawa’s manga that talks about a 27 year-old man named Toshiyuki Tanishi who has never dated, a lousy salaryman, still lives with his parents, and watches a lot of porn. However, he aims to change his current situation upon meeting a woman who doesn’t seem to be put-off with his situation and flaws.
In lieu to Ryuhei’s drama, Kanjani8 next single “Aoppana” will be used as the theme song for the drama. No further details have been released yet.
“Boys on the Run” will start airing on July 6th at TV-Asahi.
On June 19th, actress Takei Emi attended the opening event for Shiseido Maquillage’s store, “Studio Maquillage“.
Takei, who appeared at the event in a short brown wig, commented, “I challenged [myself to] short hair for the first time since 6th grade. I’m excited to know what kind of impression I will leave on everyone.”
When the host praised the actress saying, “You look mature and wonderful,” Takei responded, “Short hair gives a cheerful and lively image, but that image differs from person to person. I’m happy to hear that I have transformed maturely.”
“Studio Maquillage” is a store that will open for a limited time only, allowing women to test Maquillage’s new summer line for free. The concept is “the real me”, and it will feature a makeup simulator. Users will be able to freely try different patterns of makeup in the mirror, and there will also be a makeup artist available. At the end of the event, those who participate will have the chance to get their pictures taken by a professional photographer. “Studio Maquillage” will run until June 24th at Marunouchi Building in Tokyo.
The makeup simulator also features random messages by Takei. “People don’t decide to change on their own accord. It would make me happy if this comment makes people want to challenge themselves,” she said.
Popular model Rola recently blogged that she received a present from SMAP’s Nakai Masahiro.
In an entry titled “Chuu Chuu (o^u^o)”, Rola wrote, “Look look~! I got this mouse present from SMAP’s Nakai-kun~! It’s so cute~ I’m giving this to my dog as his toy~.”
The mouse that Rola received as a gift was in reference to Nakai’s drama “ATARU” in which the main character always carries around a mouse. Rola and Nakai are both regulars on Tuesday’s “Waratte Iitomo!”, and it seems they’ve bonded.
Fans tweeted Rola: “Aah! I saw that~ (^O^) How nice~ I want one too~ lol,” “Why would you give it to your dog…?! You’re so odd! (hehe),” “No no, it will be worn to rags after getting chewed by your dog!! lol,” and “Eeeh? You are giving it away to your dog?”
Jin Akanishi might be making a come back in Kazuya Kamenashi’s upcoming movie “妖怪人間ベム (Yokai Ningen Bem)”, reports Tokyo Sports.
It has been reported Akanishi would be making a guest appearance in the movie playing a monster.
“I’ve heard that he’ll be playing Kamenashi’s enemy, a retired pop star coming back from the US who turned into a monster because he didn’t make it in showbiz. They’re waiting for a response from Akanishi now,” said one source.
Surprisingly though, it was Kamenashi’s idea to offer Akanishi the part.
“During their KAT-TUN years they would be constantly arguing. If something came up, the two of them would begin arguing, but they recognized the other as their own rival. I heard that when Akanishi and Kuroki got married, Kamenashi sent him an email congratulating them. But then Akanishi got all of his jobs taken away from him, and then his fan club was closed down, so I guess Kamenashi couldn’t sit still and watch Akanishi go through this,” said the same source as above.
Filming for ”妖怪人間ベム (Yokai Ningen Bem)” will take place in July and August in both a studio in Tokyo and on location in Hokkaido.
We will have to wait and see whether Akanishi takes this offer or not.
Earlier this year, it was revealed that singer-actress Aya Ueto and EXILE’s Hiro are getting married in spring 2012. Both parties have denied any marriage plans.
However, recent news have surfaced that the couple are getting close in announcing their marriage after EXILE’s Tour. There are more speculations that Aya Ueto might appear in EXILE’s Sapporo Dome concert on July 1st.
TV station officials are very interested with this impending marriage announcement, in case a wedding will happen, some TV stations are willing to pay JPY 500,000 million to a billion Yen for exclusive coverage. After all, Ueto is one of the top and highest-paid endorsers in Japan.
Furthermore, Ueto and Hiro's agencies have been meeting recently, as well as with their talents' advertisers/sponsors to make sure that everything would go smoothly. It has also been reported that Ueto has been attending cooking lessons for would-be wives.
Lastly, even though this marriage announcement is not 100% sure, as the old saying goes, “When there’s smoke, there’s fire,” let’s wait and see if this “smoke” is indeed from a “fire”.

This drama will be a love comedy between the heroine Aizawa Chinami (Kusakari), 46-year-old housewife, who is under divorce mediation, and Takaoka Yusuke, a son of the owner of a global hotel chain. The role of Takaoka will be played by Seto Koji who is over 20 years younger than the heroine.
One day, Chinami is given divorce papers by her husband (Haba Yuichi) as he wants to re-marry with his old classmate and first love from junior high school (Moriguchi Yoko). In order to keep the parental custody over her son, she starts working at a luxury hotel, and meets Yusuke who is commonly called as ‘prince’ because of his perfect appearance in public, however, behind closed doors he has a very terrible and mean personality.
On her role, Kusakari commented, “I never thought I would be able to play this kind of role, so I am truly happy, and it feels rewarding. I think this story has the message of ‘you can overcome difficulties’ brightly and positively, but I can’t even imagine a love with a young man with big age gap like Seto-kun.” On the other hand, Seto said, “Although I’ve never thought of being in love with someone with such a huge age gap, I still remember the feeling of getting swayed by the sexiness and atmosphere from a mature woman who has been through both good and bad things in life (Recalling his first meeting with Kusakari).” He also commented about his role, “I would like to cherish the negative image, carefully exercising human traits of beastliness and craftiness while acting in this role. Since this will be a new challenge for me, I want to prepare for the role sincerely.”
“Nemureru Mori no Jukujo” will air from September 4th to October 30th with a total 9 episodes.

This mish-mash of imagery—cute meets creepy meets colorful—has helped turn Kyary (real name Kiriko Takemura) into one of the hottest young pop stars in Japan today and an Internet curio abroad. Powered by her surreal music videos and fashion sense, her first album debuted at the No. 2 spot on Japan's Oricon Charts, and her face has become inescapable (one could walk into a convenience store in May and see her on five magazine covers). She's also selling in America, recently topping the iTunes electronic charts, and her videos have gone viral abroad, sparking comment sections across the web loaded with one-liners like "who needs acid when we have this" and "Japan is weird."
