Sawajiri Erika to star in new CM for ‘PARCO’ as Ririko from ‘Helter Skelter’

There’s just a little over 2 weeks left until Sawajiri Erika’s upcoming movie, ‘Helter Skelter‘, opens in theaters across Japan. With anticipation rising, the movie has collaborated with PARCO for its “Summer Grand Bazaar” CM.

The CM features top model Ririko (Sawajiri Erika) and her junior Kozue (Mizuhara Kiko). It shows the relationship between the two ladies, and includes the actual CM shoot filmed for ‘Helter Skelter’. In the CM, Ririko and Kozue jump up and down while wearing koala ears, as seen on PARCO’s popular character ‘Parcoala‘.

The making-of video, which will be revealed through PARCO’s official website later today, will also feature an appearance by Ririko’s hair and makeup artist Kin-chan (Arai Hirofumi).

PARCO’s new CM will broadcast in the Kanto region starting July 2nd. Meanwhile, ‘Helter Skelter’ is scheduled to open in theaters on July 14th.

Kis-My-Ft2 to release their 4th, double A-side single in August

Kis-My-Ft2 will be releasing double A-side single  this Aug 15th. The first song is titled "WANNABEEE!!!" to be used as a theme song for Fujigaya Taisuke and Kitayama Hiromitsu's drama "The Beginners!". The second song has been used as the opening theme for AKB48 and Johnny's Junior drama ""Shiritsu Bakaleya Koukou" where Miyata Toshiya plays a professor in the said drama.

Both singles will be released in one CD on three editions: Regular and Limited A & B Edition. The Limited Edition A will have a bonus DVD of "WANNABEEE!!!" PV and making of the PV. Lastly, Limited Edition B will also include a bonus DVD featuring the PV "Shake It Up" and a private footage.

"WANNABEEE!!!" and "Shake it Up" will be released on Aug 15th.

Popular dance and vocal group, EXILE have topped the singles chart with their 39th single, "ALL NIGHT LONG." The last time they have topped this chart was with "Rising Sun/Itsuka kitto..." (September last year). Also, the last the group have a number one single surpassing 200k in the first week was with "Rising Sun/Itsuka Kitto..." The lyrics for the title song is written by vocalist ATSUSHI. It's currently being used as the CM song for GREE Seisen Cerberus in which all the members appear.

Meanwhile, popular singer-songwriter, aiko reached the no.1 spot in the albums chart with her 10th original studio album, "Toki no Silhoutte". This is her 7th no.1 album. The last time aiko achieved the top spot in this chart was with "BABY" (March 2010), 2 years and 3 months ago. Also, the last time a female singer-songwriter achieved the no.1 spot was YUI with "HOW CRAZY YOUR LOVE" (November last year). For this year, aiko is the first one.

In the music-DVD chart, 7-members Johnny's group, Kis-My-Ft2 managed to grab the top spot with "Kis-My-MINT Tour at Tokyo Dome 2012.4.8". They are only the 4th group to reach more than 100k in the first week after EXILE, Kanjani∞ and Arashi this year. This is their best-selling DVD in the first week yet since "Kis-My-Ft2 Debut Tour 2011 Everybody Go at Yokohama Arena 2011.7.31" (October 2011) which recorded 94k. This is also their 2nd no.1 music-DVD so far.

Cross-dressing group Hoshikuzu SCAT holds PR event for debut single

On June 26, three-man cross-dressing group Hoshikuzu SCAT, led by talent Mitz Mangrove (37), held a commemorative sales event in the Nikoniko Headquarters in Jingumae, Tokyo for their debut single “Magnet Joe ni Ki o Tsukero”, which will be released for sale on June 27.

They performed seven songs in all, including some solo singles. June 26th also happened to be the day that the House of Representatives of Japan passed a tax increase bill. Mitz commented on the tax, while promoting the group’s album.

He stated, “Since the tax will be increased, how about squandering some money on our CD to let us obtain the (Japan Record Award’s) New Artist Prize!? Gallantique Kazue also expressed his desire to appear on NHK’s Kohaku Uta Gassen.

Arashi unveil what’ll be in this year’s 24Hr TV

Arashi, this year’s main personalities for the charity special 24Hr TV, talked about what to expect this year during a press conference in Tokyo on June 26, reports Chunichi Sports, Sports Hochi, and Daily Sports Online.

The five of them will be joined by actress and charity personality Yui Aragaki, and TV announcers Shinichi Hatori and Nana Suzue for this year’s “24時間テレビ35『愛は地球を救う』(24Hr Television / Love Saves the Earth’)“.
