A few months have passed since our resident reporter Mr. Sato consumed a Whopper loaded with 1050 strips of bacon. Now the smell of bacon grease has finally faded from the office and Mr. Sato seems to have learned his lesson after spending countless hours curled up in the fetal position, praying his arteries would hold out another day.
At least, that’s what we thought until he walked into the office the other day carrying a Whopper with 1000 slices of cheese in his hands.
Well-decorated Japan boasts 123 gold medals and 361 total since it began sending athletes to the Summer Olympics.
In Beijing, its softball team was the crown of the competition, taking the gold away from the USA. Sadly, softball is not on the menu this year. However, a new breed of Olympic athletes are trying to improve from a medal total of 26 in Beijing, with nine gold medals to their credit.

On July 14th, actress Sawajiri Erika appeared at the stage greeting for her starring film, ‘Helter Skelter‘.
Sawajiri, who had been recuperating from her poor health, appeared at the event with short, blonde hair. “I’m very nervous. Thank you for coming. As my first lead role in a film after 5 years, I’m happy to be able to stand here. Thank you very much,” she expressed. This marked her first appearance in 5 months as she had canceled all promotional activities for the film due to her poor health.
Based on a popular manga by Okazaki Kyoko, ’Helter Skelter’ tells a story about a woman named Ririko (played by Sawajiri), who received cosmetic surgery on her entire body, which allowed her to become a top star in the entertainment industry. However, her body starts to deteriorate due to it’s after-effects, which causes her to cause incidents one after another.
Aside Sawajiri, Omori Nao, Ayano Go, Kubozuka Yosuke, Aikawa Sho, and director Ninagawa Mika attended this event. ‘Helter Skelter’ is now showing in theaters nationwide.
