Namie Amuro Not Getting Along With Agency And Reasons Why She Rejects Attending Kohaku Uta Gassen

In a recent interview with fashion magazine Numero Tokyo, Namie Amuro revealed why she works so hard and the reason behind why she rejects to attend NHK's year end Kohaku Uta Gassen.

Namie Amuro debuted 20 years ago and undoubtedly hailed as one of the J-pop queens in Japan. She worked hard throughout these 20 years and proved many people wrong when they criticized her age, "She's already 30+ years old, Namie Amuro will soon be gone." Namie responded in the interview, "When I was growing up, there were not many people who praised me. When people say I will soon be done in the entertainment industry, it spurred me on to work even harder. But when I do get praised, it makes me somehow feel lost."

A person who works in the music industry commented on Namie Amuro, "These words are not something the past Namie Amuro would say. If you look at it from another perspective, she has grown to become a person full of confidence in herself." Another person within the industry revealed that Namie works so hard was not because of criticism but the way her agency treated her which made her very angry.

Namie had attended NHK's Kohaku Uta Gassen many times in the past but in recent years, she had refused to attend. It was not because she does not get along with the broadcasting company, NHK, but because of her agency. She became one of the most popular singers in Japan and at the height of her popularity Namie requested to her agency to appear on Kohaku Uta Gassen. Her agency didn't help her arrange an appearance on the popular show and this made her very mad. Since then, she refused to appear on the year end show.

Leaving behind the image of an idol earlier on in her career, Namie Amuro worked very hard to achieve what she is today. Currently the relationship with her agency is not bad but not very good either. The decisions she make will not be influenced by anyone; in fact the rift between the agency and her is what motivated her to work hard and become the Namie Amuro today.

Hagino Kosuke is cute, his favorite AKB48 member Oshima Yuko blogs about him

Seventeen-year-old Kosuke Hagino, who won the bronze medal in the men's 400-meter individual medley Saturday, looked surprised when he checked the electronic scoreboard after finishing the race. The youthful Hagino, who outswam his idol Michael Phelps in the race, simply said, "It was fun because I swam with the world's top swimmers."

"[Kosuke] is an ordinary third-year high school student who likes AKB48 very much. I wonder if that's really my son," his mother, Takako, 48, said happily while watching her son from the stands at the pool in London. "He was born in a state of apparent death," Takako said, explaining the phrase "apparent death" was written on the first page of her maternity health record book.

He's really cute. He won me over with the fact that he didn't kiss, lick or bite his medal.

London Olympics 2012: Something Missing for Japan's Kitajima

Kosuke Kitajima is considered the greatest breaststroke swimmer in history. But the reigning world champion, Norway's Alexander Dale Oen was thought to be the gold-medal favorite in London.

But that changed on April 30 when Dale Oen died unexpectedly from cardiac arrest in Flagstaff, Ariz., where the Norwegian team was on a high-altitude training trip. He was 26 years old.

The swimming world lost one of its great champions barely in his prime. Kitajima lost a friend and his fiercest opponent in the water. When the 29-year-old competes in the 100-meter breaststroke on Saturday the biggest threat to his shot at Olympic history—the pursuit for a third consecutive Olympic title in the same event—won't be in the pool.

"I wanted to race against him here, and I miss him. I don't know if I'll be able to swim in his name but I hope to do the best I can," said Kitajima this week in London, according to Japan's Kyodo News service. Kitajima is chasing his third set of dual gold medals in the 100- and 200-meter breaststroke. How he fares in the 100-meter, considered his stronger event and scheduled before the longer course, could set the tone for his chances in the 200 meters.

From Yomiuri: [post-100m]

Kitajima seemed to have been able to overcome the sadness and sense of loss he felt over Dale Oen's death. However, the loss of his rival seemingly left a gaping hole that could not be filled.

Kitajima has not been satisfied with his recent performances. His fifth place in Sunday's final was a continuation of that. "I thought maybe I could give Dale Oen something like a farewell gift if I'd swum a bit better, but this was a miserable race," he said. "It's a real pity."

This article is couple days late, but I thought it'd be good to read how he feels. Cuz NBC does not offer that.
Ganbare on 200m, Kitajima~

Nishino Kana breaks own digital record with 12th #1 single

Recochoku released their weekly ranking last week (7/25), and singer Nishino Kana topped the full download chart with her 18th single, "GO FOR IT !!"

The song has become her 12th consecutive #1 since 2009's "Motto..." and with this release she has broken the record once again for the most #1 songs.

"GO FOR IT !!" serves as a "love confession cheer song" full of courage for everyone. Through Kana's realistic lyrics, the pop track is full of the nervousness, wonder, and excitement felt by anyone who's ever wanted to confess their love.

After snagging the #1 spot as a ringtone (Chaku-Uta) for the first week of July, the song was then released as a full download on the 18th and the following week topped that chart as well.
