Ugh, so sad. :( IMO, this song and video really show their merits as performers in a way that a lot of others by them don't, so I definitely recommend it.
Japanese fashion brand Roen, which provided costume design work on Final Fantasy Versus XIII, is listing the upcoming Square Enix RPG as “Final Fantasy 15” on its official website’s biography page.
How do we know it’s Final Fantasy Versus XIII and not a different game called Final Fantasy XV? The work was done in 2008, when publisher Square Enix announced its partnership with Roen. And Versus XIII is nowhere to be found in the company’s history.
This will mark the first starring role for Tsuchiya, whose career has been slowly building steam since making her film debut in Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s Tokyo Sonata in 2008 and following it up with an appearance in Yojiro Takita’s Sanpei the Fisher Boy in 2009. More recently, her acting in Suzuki Sensei has been praised by many of the staff members involved.
The original Arcana manga was serialized in Weekly Young Jump from 2000-2001. The story is set in a world where it’s possible for “doppelgangers” to split off from a human and live separately from the the original version of themselves. Tsuchiya will play both “Maki” and “Satsuki”.
Masataka Nakagauchi, who’s primarily a stage actor, will play Murakami, a detective who meets an amnesiac hospital patient named Maki during an investigation. He soon discovers Maki has the ability to communicate with spirits of the dead that tell her how to solve crimes. The pair team up to stop a mass murderer and Murakami finds himself falling in love. Eventually, Maki’s true nature is revealed, as well as her connection to Satsuki.
A release is slated for this fall. Preceding the theatrical release, a short film starring Tokimi Fukami and Taro Suwa called “Arcana Short Movie ~Doppleganger 3D~” will air on SKY PerfecTV! on March 24.
