Update on HSJ and making headlines everywhere

Hey!Say! underage member smoking, entertainment activities stopped indefinitely

Official statement:
Today, there are some news articles, which we validated with Morimoto Ryutaro himself. He admits that he has smoked out of curiosity on several occassions before. Although he is very sorry for his behaviour and in self-scrutiny, however underage smoking as a violation of the law is common knowledge and an unacceptable behaviour. Our company has always placed emphasis on educating them in this regard. To face the facts, from now on, Morimoto will cease all of his activities in the entertainment field indefinitely.
We sincerely apologize for the trouble caused to all fans and related persons.

Ryutaro wasn't my bias to begin with but as a HSJ fan for so many years, I still can't help but feel really sad over this...
This was totally expected from JE but I just feel that this is too harsh for him.
It's wrong for him to smoke when he should know well enough that it was against the law.
The only thing that could be blame is that he's underage. If he wasn't I'm sure things woul be easier to handle and he probably wouldn't have to leave the group.
Fans are going to be really disappointed but I'm more worried about how the rest of the HSJ members are going to move on.
They are still a bunch of kids an I can't imagine what they are going through now.
Shit happen just on the day of their single release.

I don't think I ever want to see the members apologizing on Ryutaro's behalf just like what NEWS had done during the incident of Kusano and Uchi.
It's too much to see the boys in agony.

Let's hope for the best for Ryutaro and hopefully, he will be able to come back on stage just like Uchi.
It might take years but let's just hope and pray about that.

I do pity him slightly - JE is harsh on those who do these kinds of things and are caught...but still, he knew that he shouldn'tve done it and he STILL did it.

He's a teenager. Teenagers sometimes do stuff like this. It's 'normal' for the other kids but he knew what the consequences were if he were to do these things when he joined JE...

Sad that he may not be able to be in the entertainment business ever again...HSJ are doing pretty well too...oh well...

Just the other day, I saw a pic of him and said "Wow, he looks so much older than a few years ago!" -_-

I can't tell if I feel bad for him or not. I mean, he's my age. I know the circumstances are different, and that smoking there is a regular thing, yet underage smoking in general is unbelievable to me. Plus, he shouldn't have taken pictures, shouldn't have said it was okay, and should have learned from NEWS.

I probably feel worst for the poor fans. I'm not even HSJ that much, but I hope to god this doesn't force them into hiatus while Kisumai sky-rockets to fame. History does not have to repeat itself this one time.

If he leaves, idk if I will be able to continue following JUMP or not, since he is my niban*and Ive been obsessed with him recently*
If he does Id rather Yamachan go solo than a 9member HSJ

Where is the official statement? I searched it on all the Johnny's Entetainment pages ( , , ) and I didn't found it.

(sorry, I'm not really good in english)

it was posted as part of the newspaper article which I'm assuming is from 'official sources'....cuz you know.... they signed it as from the Jimushou.

Also I heard that they sent mail to their fanclub members about this already?

I admit I'm surprised, out of all the boys in that era Ryutaro was the last one I would have expected to get into trouble. He showed a lot of potential when he was just a tiny ten-year-old, so yeah, disappointed.

And anyone noticed that all the debuted groups after NEWS (now) have lost at least one member? Creepy.
maffinoyobiai 27th-Jun-2011 10:21 pm (UTC)
Don't know this group or fandom at all, but what I'm getting out of this, is that if you smoke while underage and a photo gets leaked of it, you lose your career? lol k

I imagine all the 'NEWS is sorry' apology fiasco repeating itself. I CAN IMAGINE YUTO BOWING HIS HEAD DOWN FIRST, idek why.
thaiswp 27th-Jun-2011 10:42 pm (UTC)
A group with two frontmen who are more popular -for no reason-, with a scandal of a member who was doing something illegal for his age, one more, one more member doing it and it gonna be a full deja vu of NEWS, maybe without hiatus... I don't know
nyappnyappcafe 27th-Jun-2011 10:51 pm (UTC)
Reaction expected.
Not surprised.

Not a HSJ fan, but I can imagine how sucky the fans might feel.
