EXILE’s sister group FLOWER to make their debut in October!

EXILE’s sister group FLOWER will officially make their major label debut in October!

FLOWER will make their major label debut with the song “Still“, which will be released on October 12th. But that’s not all; the group also announced on the 26th that they will be making their debut with nine members rather than four.

The original members Mizuno Erina, Fujii Shuuka, Shigetome Manami, and Nakashima Mio were known as a “performance group”, and will now be joined by five new vocalists. The girls were chosen through a nationwide audition process titled “EXILE Presents VOCAL BATTLE AUDITION3 ~For Girls~“, which occurred this past spring.

“I feel like my dream is coming true. I think the words ‘inexpressible feeling’ (describe) it exactly,” said leader Mizuno with a smile. When asked about their change from a four member to nine member group, she commented, “Since our personalities are strong, at first there was some confusion. But everybody has big dreams and aspirations, so we settled it while talking about it together.”

FLOWER also drew attention at the event for their beautiful legs, which they hope will help them stand out as they storm the major label scene with their strong dance performances and vocals, much like Korean idol groups KARA and Shoujo Jidai. When asked if they considered those groups as their rivals, Mizuno cheerfully responded, “Of course! We’d like to be able to perform at a stadium (too).”

The youngest member of the group is just thirteen years old, while two of the members of FLOWER are still second year students in middle school. Despite their young age, the girls enthusiastically stated, “We want to show you an adult performance where you won’t be able to sense our age!”

Check out photos from the event below, and stay tuned for more information on FLOWER’s major label debut!

They're so gorgeous, but I honestly prefer if LDH promotes happiness than debuting a new group. Happiness needs a mainstream recognize :|

They're really pretty!

I'm used to Japanese girl groups with average-looking girls so this is a nice surprise :)

If they dance like Happiness then they won't have a problem outdoing the likes of KARA and SNSD. Now if they sing like Happiness...
whited_79 27th-Jul-2011 04:21 am (UTC)
FLOWER are better dancers than Happiness though, and older...and from what I've seen through Shukan Exile and their training, they're also better vocalists...

will now be joined by five new vocalists.

Reina, Chiharu and Kyoka won EXILE VB3 for FLOWER...Nozomi and Harumi are performers only and didn't compete for the vocals part...

Tokyograph translated:

FLOWER, one of EXILE’s “sister groups,” is ready for a CD debut. The group held a press conference on Tuesday to announce their first single and to unveil five new members, bringing their total size to 9.

The five new members consist of three vocalists – Washio Reina (17), Muto Chiharu (16), and Ichiki Kyoka (14) – and two performers – Bando Nozomi (13) and Sato Harumi (16). All of them were selected from more than 30,000 girls in the “EXILE Presents VOCAL BATTLE AUDITION 3 ~For Girls~” that started in February.

FLOWER will release their first single, “still,” on October 12.

The group has also been added to the lineup for Avex’s a-nation tour. They will perform in Ehime on July 30, Aichi on August 13, Osaka on August 21, and Tokyo on August 27.
whited_79 and I love the song Still!27th-Jul-2011 04:26 am (UTC)
So Reina, Chiharu and Kyoka won EXILE VBA3 for FLOWER. I just knew that Reina is a shoo-in since the coaches praise her. And you know they wanted Chiharu since they allowed her to return. Kyoka winning over Sayaka, and pretty girls Mako and Juri though is quite the surprise. And with this, EXILE break the mold of having even-numbered vocalists by having 3 for FLOWER!

now I want to see what they're going to do with the other new unit (the one with 12-13 year-olds)...

It's about time someone in Japan got together a more K-idol inspired group. Mature songs but Japanese personalities and of course, if they do well, more attention on Japanese artists that are NOT AKB48 or the various "nyaa we are so happy and kawaiii~!!11!" J-idol groups.
whited_79 28th-Jul-2011 03:39 am (UTC)
they're not Kpop-inspired, they're EXILE-inspired...I'm pretty sure there's no group in Kpop that clearly has separate vocals and performers...
bonbon_berry 28th-Jul-2011 04:38 am (UTC)
I couldn't be any more sad Sayaka didn't win D; Her voice was amazzinngggg!!>___
whited_79 29th-Jul-2011 02:22 am (UTC)
oh someone else who like Shionoya Sayaka! since Reina is a shoo-in and the people up there want Chiharu, I figured the other spot would go to Sayaka...surprised that Kyoka won over her!
