It’s been revealed that model Rola will be making her singing debut in ISSA × SoulJa’s upcoming single, “i hate you“, which will be released on October 12th.
“i hate you” is a ballad that expresses a man’s ‘anger’ after being cheated on, and a woman’s ‘loneliness’ after cheating. Rola will sing, “I want to cry, but I can’t cry…“, from the woman’s point of view in a painful yet carefree way.
Originally, Rola’s part wasn’t in the song, but ISSA and SoulJa proposed a collaboration after thinking, “By expressing a cheating woman’s feelings, it would turn out to be an emotional song.” While searching for a female singer, they were attracted by Rola’s exotic looks and her desire for the singing industry, and requested her to collaborate.
The song was then re-written, and lyrics from a women’s point of view was added. ISSA will be the one who was cheated on by Rola, and SoulJa will be the character that expresses the feelings inside ISSA’s head. They also decided their group name will be “ISSA × SoulJa ＋ Rola“.
Prior to the CD release, the song will be available in Chaku-Uta form starting September 23rd, and in Chaku-Uta Full form on the 28th.
Rola commented, “I was nervous, but I had fun. Also, the song is cool, so I’m glad I got to be a part of it. I want to continue to challenge myself.” Meanwhile, ISSA expressed, “The song turned out to be a even better song. Please enjoy ROLA’s cute voice and expressions.”
