Happiness, EXILE perform in Beijing for 40,000
Happiness and EXILE performed for 40,000 fans in Beijing at the "3 Nations - China/Japan/Korea Music Festival" marking their first overseas performance. EXILE, performing "I Wish For You" as well as two other songs, and Happiness, who sang "Kiss Me" and "Wish," hit the main stage of the stadium that held the 2008 Olympics. EXILE also announced that they would be releasing their CDs in various countries of Asia starting next year. This will prove to be a major step toward full-blown international advancement.
Both groups introduced themselves in Chinese, and Happiness sang part of their hits, "Kiss Me" and "Wish" in the language, much to the audience's delight. KENICHI of EXILE, showed off his superb Chinese skills, saying, "After the Tohoku earthquake, China supported Japan greatly, and we thank you for that."
Other artists present included Kuraki Mai of Japan, Chinese pop singer Chris Lee, and Super Junior.
This is another step in EXILE's advancement into Asia, following their contract singing with Hong Kong record company, East Asia, and movie production corporation, Media Asia. However, their progression outside of Japan was set back by the March 11 earthquake as well as worsening of Japan-China government relations. However, from next year, the group will be releasing their CDs in the country, and the performance this week was broadcast on a major state-run network, indiciating progression into the Chinese market.
