Tonight, the NHK documentary program "Professional Shigoto no Ryu-gi" will resume broadcast for the first time in six months beginning with a SMAP special. The staff closely followed and filmed SMAP for two months as they worked through their solo and group activities. One of the main features is SMAP's Bejing live, with video depicting their preparations and happenings behind the scenes, including an emergency meeting that sparked an intense debate among the members. In addition, the show will contain exclusive footage of the group's secret events in the disaster-stricken areas, though an interview with the show's producer revealed that SMAP had not wanted the coverage. The five members visited elementary schools to talk and shake hands with more than 1,500 people affected by the earthquake.
In candid interviews, the members disclosed their feelings about their past struggles and conflicts, pressures, and thoughts about their individual roles within the group. "Professional Shigoto no Ryu-gi" will depict their serious approach to work and commitment to their jobs as entertainers.
The 73-minute special airs October 10th at 7:30 PM.
