Ohno Satoshi reveals his Arashi groupmates rejected his gifts at ‘Kaibutsu-kun’ pre-screening



On October 13th, Arashi’s Ohno Satoshi attended the pre-screening event for his upcoming movie “Kaibutsu-kun“. As reported previously, the movie will take place in India, and it follows the story of Kaibutsu-kun and his entourage’s adventures in the “Curry Kingdom.”

The event drew 1,700 fans, and Ohno rode on a big elephant to play up the theme of an exotic adventure. During the MC session, Ohno revealed that he bought ornaments in India as a souvenir for the other Arashi members, but unfortunately, all the members told him they didn’t want it.

Aside from Ohno, Yashima Norito, Ueshima Ryuhei, Matsuoka Masahiro, Kawashima Umika, Hamada Tatsuomi, and Inamori Izumi showed up in their costumes from the movie, and the original author, Fujiko Fujio A, appeared at the pre screening as well. Korean MMA Fighter Choi Hong Man, who appears in the movie as “Franken”, did not attend the pre-screening due to his recent scandal.

“Kaibutsu-kun” is scheduled to be released on November 26th in both 2D and 3D.

It's still a bit rude from the other members. They could have accepted the gifts and just put them away somewhere.

I would be very upset, if I bought something for somebody and this person simply doesn't accept it! -.-''

Just to clarify, what the other guys actually said was "要らない", which is more along the lines of having no need for it/finding it useless rather than straight out declaring they didn't want it. This is what he gave them, and all things considered... I'd find it pretty useless too:



(By the way, the article doesn't say that they never accepted the souvenirs either, just that they vetoed it.)

They don't have to serve any other purpose than those, really. Just saying :)

Yeah, but Japanese people tend to do souvenirs a little differently. :) They buy food a lot, or teas, or soaps. Something that can be used and won't permanently take up space. If they were buying stuff for themselves, they'd probably buy permanent reminders of places they've been, but for others it's often something useful.

I don't understand why people are taking this so seriously. thanks acidae for trying to clarify. This was only meant as a joke to make the audience laugh. This was supposed to only be a light-hearted member story.
