Drama Prime Time Ratings– October 17th~20th




For this week’s first of two Drama Prime Time Reports, we get to look at six new fall dramas, four of them reaching ratings of 17.0% and beyond, and a very stable “Kaseifu no Mita“.

On Monday, Fuji TV aired the first episode of their new Monday drama, “Watashi ga Renai Dekinai Riyuu“, starring Karina, Yoshitaka Yuriko, and Oshima Yuko. Many people were looking forward to this drama, while Fuji TV was hoping to finally air a more successful drama in their ‘Getsu 9′ (Monday 9pm) time slot again. It looks like the cast and the premise was at least interesting enough to attract a lot of viewers for the first episode, as “Watashi ga Renai Dekinai Riyuu” achieved an average rating of exactly 17.0%. That’s the most successful first episode since “Tsuki no Koibito” in the summer season of 2010.

However, recent examples have shown that the ratings for the second episode, now that people know the look and are more familiar with the atmosphere of the drama, will be much more crucial. Will the ratings take a nose dive this season as well?

it started slow. the filming to a bit for me to get used to (does anyone kno who sings the opening?) but it's super cute and i love how well sho and keiko work together

I swear, watching Watashi ga Renai Dekinai Riyuu was like watching my life. Definitely following that one.

Apart from that, idk, I had really high expectations for Sho's drama, watched it, and then I was just like, ....... what is this. IDK, isn't Sho supposed to be all idgaf?? And I had a problem with the overuse Marvel comic book effect. Sadly I may be dropping this.

im so jealous of you guys, end of year exams keeping me from enjoying these dramas. cant wait till i sit back and relax watching watashi ga renai dekinai riyuu and sho's drama!

I already ship Yoshitaka and Karina's characters in Watashi ga Renai Dekinai Riyuu so hard. But the drama is frustrating because it reinforces a lot of stereotypes about girls.

Looking forward to Yuko's character busting out of her shell.

My two dramas of this season : Nankyoku and Watashi ga renai ..:) Nankyoku is good overall with acting of Kimutaku . Watashi ga renai describes real life quite good haha , I like the character of Karrina :) She is so like me :D/ I turned on TV to watch Sho's drama but it seems that it's not really my taste although the novel is really famous:).

i see high ratings in general~
i wished i could watch more dramas~ sp aibou 10
but my priorities are the ones with johnnys involve...im not ashame for being such a bias~ xD
i need more from NazoDi..i hope the ratings dont drop too much in the upcoming eps
nankyoku was awsome ..cant wait x tomorrow~
and thats what i watched so far i hope to see kame as monster tomorrow now to bed~

Nazotoki is so overrated *sigh*
I love Sho but the drama was so blah I think I'll drop it
Sho and Keiko spent half of the episode sitting and talking about the case which was not much of a case either

Reading the comments here, maybe I'll try Renai Dekinai Riyuu

I had really high expectations for NazoDi, but I was actually really disappointed... it was too slow-paced, the weird use of comic book style and imo the mystery was, i don't know, too unlikely :/

I see I am not the only one disappointed by Nazodi, I felt it was too ''gimmicky'' too many use of comic book effects, over exagerated acting. It was too literal, it should have been toned down and more realistic. The mystery could have been interesting it it was better staged, too much time sitting on a couch and talking, it needed more action. I wonder what the japanese public thinks, I can't wait too see the 2nd ep ratings. I give it 1 more ep and if it stile sucks I am not watching anymore.

sometimes, the reviews online may not really represent ratings.
but thankfully the positive feedback reflected on Yokai's ratings.

that are some quite severe reviews. Nankyoku Tairiku isn't topping the list and has only 2 stars ? :o
And I guess that I have to watch this Kudokan drama ASAP.

I like Kaseifu no Mita and HUNTER. Couldn't get through a full ep of Nazotoki wa Dinner no Ato although I tried. I liked the comic style (I'm the only one who does lol) but didn't like the characters. :/
