Popular manga series “ONE PIECE” has released its 64th volume; publishing company Shueisha revealed on November 4th that 4,000,000 copies of the newest addition to the series had been issued. This is a first for both the publishing company and Japanese publishing.
Since 1997, Oda Eiichiro’s series has been serialized in “Weekly Shonen Jump.” Since the release of the first volume in the series, there have been a total of 250,000,000 prints and reprints of the series. In 2010, 3,000,000 copies of the 57th volume in the series were initially issued; in contrast, only 2,900,000 sets of “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” were initially issued in 2004.
