Finally, after months of waiting, here's the first image of the upcoming live action adaptation of Nobuhiro Watsuki's Rurouni Kenshin samurai manga and anime. Kamen Rider Den-O's Takeru Sato will the the role of Kenshin Himura.
The image came from the January 2012 issue of Jump Square magazine.
Other stars included in the live action Rurouni Kenshin film are Emi Takei (Taira no Kiyomori, Asuko March!) as Kaoru Kamiya, Yuu Aoi (Hana and Alice, Honey and Clover) will play Megumi Takani, while Munetaka Aoki (The Last Message Umizaru, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time) will play Sanosuke Sagara, and Taketo Tanaka will take on the role of Yahiko Myōjin aka Yoshi.
In addition, Koji Kikkawa (Kamen Rider W) will play as Jine Udo, Yosuke Eguchi as Hajime Saitō, and Teruyuki Kagawa as Kanryū Takeda.
Warner Brothers Pictures Japan is producing with its president William Ireton, while Studio Swan (Paradise Kiss) is in charge of the actual film production. “Rurouni Kenshin” live action movie is slated for August 25th 2012 release.
