According to Pokemon fan site Serebii, Japanese magazine CoroCoro will be revealing a new Pokemon game in their next issue, set to hit newsstands January 14.The magazine has hinted that the reveal will be a "world first shocking announcement," so we've obviously got our fingers crossed for the next logical step for the Pokemon series—Pokemon Gray version.
If Pokemon Black and White prove no different from previous games in the series, then Pokemon Gray should be the next game to be announced (unless they play the wild card and do Pokemon Rainbow or something). It appears they've already set up a website for it and everything—pokemongray.com was registered in October by the same company that handled the Black and White sites.
What's so shocking about that? Well, our guess is that they'll be announcing the game as a 3DS exclusive. The 3DS can easily interact with other DS systems, so it would prove no problem for Pokemon fans who want their shiny new Gray (or Rainbow!) to connect with their older Black or White copy. In fact, judging by the sort-of-3D graphics in the last two games, we'd guess they've had this planned all along.
Is this a genius way for Nintendo to sell more 3DS systems, or are you just surprised to hear they're still making Pokemon games? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter or Facebook.
