First week of the new year! I’m excited cause I’m going to Vegas for work next week. :D
Anyway, rumors! (Got bored at work this week so I typed it up between meetings :D)
1. Even though Nankyouku Tairiku was sort of a flop, KimuTaku is already working hard on his next drama. Execs are thinking about putting some kouhais in there to pretty up the cast. Names that have been mentioned? Yamapi, Ikuta Toma, and MatsuJun. The female lead is going to be Ayase Haruku again, although with how busy she is lately, whether she’ll agree or not is still up in the air.
2. Yoshimoto Agency (one of the biggest comedian management agencies in Japan) is looking to recruit Shunsuke back to showbiz. Apparently a lot of comedians are also looking forward for a possible, but if TV execs are not as enthusiastic because of Shunsuke’s ties to the Yakuza.
3. Now that Takaoka Sousuke and Miyazaki Aoi announced their divorce, people are speculating what the two will do with their single-selves. Takaoka is not completely dense and he knows that his future as an actor is going to be extremely limited (to put it lightly) so he’s looking to produce a chain of monja-yaki restaurants (think gooier okonomiyaki/savory pancakes?) Aoi herself is looking to possibly have a Hollywood debut now that she doesn’t have to worry about leaving the country for prolong periods of time.
4. Miyane Seiji (famous Japanese tv host) announced the other day that he has an illegitimate son. People are now wondering if his shows are going to get cancel because of the backlash in popularity he’s suffering because of the announcement.
5. Matsuko Delux went on a tv show recently where she discussed the popularity of Kpop in Japan with a Kpop expert. The Kpop expert says that Jpop is like amateur baseball and Kpop is like professional baseball because Kpop gets recognition from Western artists. Which pissed off Matsuko enough that she blurted out, “Kpop is just copying American pop music anyway! If you don’t like Japan, then gtfo!” as producers quickly cut to commercials. (Not really a rumor but the Japanese netizens seem to be happy about her comments.)
Now, some funny snippets from Cyzo’s crosstalk between three entertainment insiders:
1. SMAP might disband next yr? 2. Arashi isn’t going to hawk AU phones anymore. Instead, they’re going to be replaced by a couple of hot young actors, kind of like Toyota’s CMs with live-action Doraemon.
oh, i can cook, i just made a ton of crepes, fries, fish....
and baked some cheese pastries -but they were already prepared, premodeled, everything, and some pre-made chicken stuff.. in about an hour everything will be gone, or half gone, lol
I know that I was an annoying otaku when I was a teenager. But I'm not really ashamed of it because *everyone* is annoying when they're a teen. I don't get people who are so ashamed of themselves that they shun everything they used to like. Maybe I'm rambling but they're making it a bigger deal than it is.
