Japan's ichiban male idol group hold a release event for their new single!

On January 8th, D☆DATE held a commemorative release event for their new single “Love Heaven” at LAZONA Kawasaki Plaza.

“We’re going to make everyone smile in 2012 with D☆DATE’s songs!” leader Araki Hirofumi confidently declared. “We’re going to take first place on Oricon and appear on Kohaku Uta Gassen!” Fellow member Igarashi Shunji added, “Kohaku, naturally, is something we long for, so we’d like to aim for it.”

Approximately 10,000 people gathered in the venue for D☆DATE’s event, causing member Seto Koji to remark, “The excitement’s rising because of the amazing people [here]! It’s cold, but let’s make it the hottest we can.” Horii Arata, who announced earlier that he would be showing off his backflip to the crowd, managed to successfully complete a backflip for the audience despite not landing a single one while practicing. “I’m super happy. I feel like crying,” he said, eyes moist with tears.

During the event, the group also unveiled coming of age photos of Igarashi, Seto, and Araki in celebration of “Seijin no Hi”, which fell on January 9th this year. Seeing a photo of himself wearing a jersey, Igarashi commented, “At the time I was more reckless than I was now, but I couldn’t help but want to take the lead role. Since I’ve grown up now, I’d rather be a versatile actor who can be active over a long period of time,” he stated earnestly.

“Love Heaven” will be released on January 11th, as well as a brand new single titled “JOKER” in February for two consecutive releases.
