It seems to be a popular thing recently to take celebrities and transform them into cute, squishy, super-deformed figures. We know Linkin Park is suppose to be getting the Nendoroid treatment and Japanese pop duo ClariS who did the song "irony" for Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai also had the Nendoroid honor. Now Bandai wants a piece of that super deformed figure celebrity pie.
Teased some time ago and now finally revealed at Tamashii Nation 2011, Bandai will be producing chibi-arts figures of the five team Japanese pop group Momoiro Clover Z. Being a pop group, the team has worn many outfits but Bandai has decided to select one that really is unique. And I don't mean that in a positive way. I know they are one of those manufacturered pop groups but could they have selected a more ridiculous outfit to produce for the figures? Well, they stand out some that's something I suppose.
I'm just an old man who grew up in the '80s so I'm unfamiliar with the sound Momoiro Clover Z may produce. It's probably one that would have me shaking my cane at them to telling them to turn it down. But, hey! Good news for those who like themselves some Momoiro Clover Z and want to collect something that you don't see everyday. Look for the Momoiro Clover Z x chibi-arts figures to come out on February 14, 2012. Dawwww~ Valentine's Day.
