AKB48's older sister group, SDN48 have finally topped the chart, single or album, with their first and final album, "NEXT ENCORE." All members of the group will graduate by the end of this month. Besides SDN48, the only other female groups who have achieved the no.1 spot with their first albums were Korean group, 2NE1, and AKB48's sub-unit, No Sleeves.
Meanwhile, popular Korean group, Tohoshinki achieved their 10th consecutive no.1 single with "STILL." This has extended their own record of being the only foreign artists to have achieved this for the first time in 45 years. They have also surpassed BoA's record of having the most singles by a foreign artist to enter the top 10 with 26 singles (BoA has 25).
In the music-DVD chart, popular dance and vocal group, EXILE achieved the top spot with "EXILE LOVE TOUR 2011 TOWER OF WISH ~Negai no Tou~." They have also topped the overall DVD ranking as well as Blu-Ray ranking, making them only the 3rd male group to have achieved this feat since Mr.Children in November 2011 and RADWIMPS in January this year. EXILE sold 40k of the Blu-Ray version, totalling to 287k of DVD+BD overall. This is also the 4th time they have surpassed the 200k mark for music-DVD sold, ranking them at 2nd place behind Arashi (with 5 times for more than 200k of music-DVD sold in the first week).
