The NINKI ratings are the results of a POLL conducted by Oricon indicating degree of interest/degree of purchase intention in an upcoming release. Although the ratings are never a true reflection of sales, it does give a strong prediction about where the single/album will place in terms of popularity amongst the Japanese public. However, they are NOT an indication of how it will perform in terms of chart positioning and total sales for the week.

Note 2:

According to Oricon's note under the NINKI page, Oricon researches about 870,000 of its members by random sampling of 400 members in their 10s until 40s. 50 men and 50 women are chosen randomly to participate in each age group. (However, some popular artists have had NINKI exceeding 500, so we can only assume that Oricon has extended the polling to around 600/700 people now.)

Tomochin's first single lost to Tohoshinki! Don't tell me her third single continue lose to SMAP?! I luv Smap too, but i hope Tomochin herself can fighting to get the win in the end (≧ ∀ ≦)

There's no way she'll beat SMAP.

It's weird, her sales are the best out of any AKB soloist so you'd think management would arrange for her single to come out on a better week for her.

Gackt's sales aren't good at all though, I'd have been very very disappointed if she hadn't beat Gackt.

Tomo's single is a ballad, which are usually slower sellers overall, so she's got that against her. And SMAP's fans won't want her to break their #1 running streak. I mean it's not impossible, and I obviously I want her to get number 1, but I think it's unlikely.

I don't know about sales number and such, but like to add, SMAP single has a PV + making, normal PV wasn't included for a while to CD and I can't even remember about making

and when SMAP got that 105k for Sotto Kyutto they only released one version...This is love had 3 versions, Boku no Hanbun had 2...

no way...she couldn't even get 90k first week for her previous single...in fact, her single sales has been dropping...SMAP can easily do 150k, there's no way Itano can beat them...

I find it so damn hard to believe that they actually have a higher Ninki than Kana Hanazawa or the fact they're even ranked to begin in the first place.
