After fellow Johnny’s talent Yamashita Tomohisa’s “Route 66: My Journey Across America Alone” became a success, NTV decided to do another travel documentary with Kis-MY-Ft2’s Kitayama Hiromitsu. Kitayama will go on a 3,000 kilometers journey across India alone.
It was reported that Kis-My-FT2’s Kitayama Hiromitsu will have his first solo show for NTV’s “Johnny's Journey: Kis-My’s-Ft2 Kitayama Hiromitsu Solo Backpacking Trip across India".
Kitayama will be traveling a total of 2954 km under harsh Indian weather conditions and language barrier. The Johnny’s talent will also be traveling with only JPY 10,000 budget, no make-up nor stylist, and no manager to help him. Kitayama is expected to do everything on his own to finish his travel.
NTV’s travel-documentary will follow the same format as Tomohisa Yamashita’s “Route 66” where Yamashita traveled US alone using the famous Route 66 with just one companion- a 1985 Chevrolet C20.
“I want to be manlier and hopes that this journey will help me overcome my shyness,” Kitayama said. Some of the shows’ highlight is Kitayama’s visit to Buddhist pilgrimage site- Buddha Gaya, riding a camel across Indian dessert, and taking a dip in Ganges River.
The show will start on July 3rd at NTV.
