Morning Musume:
One, two, three. Well...I don't know, the outfits sucked but at least Kanon had a decent hairstyle, and the dance was okay, but...maybe it was just me, the voices were kind of...meh. Even though the rest seldomly sing, Reina was good as usual but Riho sounded...weird. Like nothing like the single. Maybe her voice is maturing or something but in parts I was like, oh, this is new, and others I was I am no fan of Riho's or Reina's type of voice so it'd be better but for now Riho's voice sounded...weird. Like if she even missed the tone.
I didn't like the other song but it sounded nicely.

They're using a weird mix of backtrack/lives for it, which is why it sounds so bad. Like, Sayu's lines and Riho's adlibbing at the end were completely lipsynched, but then some of the other stuff wasn't.

I don't know why Riho was trying to sing like that, because it's not even remotely close to what her natural singing voice sounds like. It's almost as if she's trying to imitate the way Reina sings.

It's almost like she realized after six singles she realized how bad she sounds.
taylorniw 21st-Aug-2012 01:51 am (UTC)
But she didn't realize that whatever she's trying to do in these lives is hardly an improvement.
sadistic_dance 21st-Aug-2012 06:11 am (UTC)
It's better than what she was doing.
taciturndream 21st-Aug-2012 08:34 pm (UTC)
I really don't have anything against her but I don't know what they were thinking while giving her so much lines. Riho-fans tend to say she is more skilled than the rest but I really see no difference at all, even from 10th gen, apart from her dancing. I hope she gets better at it if she was trying a change and that she actually nails the tone... And that they get good singers for the 11th gen.
taylorniw 21st-Aug-2012 09:16 pm (UTC)
If I was to rank them by gen it would probably go like this:

Mizuki > Kanon > Riho > Erina In time, Mizuki and Kanon will probably switch spots.

Haruka > Masaki > Ayumi > Haruna Ayumi is kind of terrible right now, but her problems are something I could see them fixing over time as well.
taciturndream 21st-Aug-2012 10:06 pm (UTC)
After Reina and Sayumi leave I'm sure it'll become something like Riho/Mizuki at first, and I hope they start distributing more, the rest becoming at least like Kamei or Gaki when there was a dominant duo. I can't see Kanon getting more lines over time though, sadly, but who knows. I can't see Riho leaving the throne anytime, so either it becomes like the old days or they start a new Riho+someone. Which reminds me I thought Reina sounded really different in say, Shabondama, and her voice changed a lot over time, maybe Riho is making a change too. Time will tell!

I really want a voice similar to Ai's or Gaki's, and Haruka might or might not get there over time. Plus the new members.

It's both fun and not fun not to be biased towards any of the members. It's like I just want them to sound reaaally good, no matter who sings what. Yet I guess I want more 9th gen + Haruka + Ayumi.

/was going to be shorter

I think she's probably trying to sing more from her diaphragm and less from her throat so that she doesn't end up cracking her voice like she usually does. That and I imagine you run out of breath pretty fast while you're trying dance at the same time if you're inexperienced
taciturndream 21st-Aug-2012 08:29 pm (UTC)
Yeah, I suppose, but with this I really hope they start distributing the lines for ears-sake, and stop giving the responsability to someone who can't really take it voice-wise...and sell the idols as they actually are, because that was nothing like what her voice is.
gambareletsgo 21st-Aug-2012 02:04 am (UTC)
Damn Sayu...I love you and all, but please don't sing.
Especially with that annoying squeak at the end.

One day I'll click a H!P post and there wont be hating or random bitching. One day...

It's nice to know I'm not the only person with this dream. There is hope in this fandom.
taciturndream 21st-Aug-2012 09:50 pm (UTC)
EH? Random bitching? Is it wrong to voice out an opinion? I don't see bitching anywhere in this post...even less hating. O_o
yasmine2009 21st-Aug-2012 11:17 pm (UTC)
That's how you feel. I feel differently.
taciturndream 22nd-Aug-2012 01:52 am (UTC)
Ah, okay. I was actually honestly wanting to know what exactly but maybe you'll feel I'm trying to start something.
yasmine2009 23rd-Aug-2012 01:48 am (UTC)
I don't feel like you're starting something. I want to avoid a fight or misunderstanding myself, that's why I keep my comment short.

I'm just so tired of all the negativity in the H!P. I even feel myself getting pulled into it. I just want to fangirl and have fun. Lately, it seems the only thing the fandom can do is complain or plainly hate members (and try to pass it off as an "opinion") It's no fun. It's fine to have an opinion, but far to many people walk or even cross the line into hate. I can't remember the last time I went to a H!P post or forum and just had fun, fangirled and laughed. :/
taciturndream 23rd-Aug-2012 05:36 pm (UTC)
I get where you are coming from, yet I feel negative opinions are just as valid at times, especially in this transition MM is going through. If someone went "Sayumi, why aren't you center if you sing so much better than the rest!", then I really think the fandom would be terrible.

I am no fan of any of the girls yet so I'm not biased in pointing out what I liked or don't about certain members, but like with any other fandom I like seeing the flaws and how they can improve, in my opinion obviously. To me bitching would be like Riho can't stand your face go away or Kanon stop getting fat you hurt my eyes, which I have read in other places. I feel the fandom will always complain, yet there are times when if they complain is too strong, then there might -or might not- be a problem with the group.

Thanks for answering, I completely misunderstood your last answer!

Edit: Also I only follow MM so I can't say at all how the entire H!P fandom is in general.

You know I've seen comments like that about Sayumi... O.o

Like I said, opinions/criticisms are just fine. I'm just annoyed by those that take other people's criticisms and use them as a bridge to their hate. That happens way too much in the H!P fandom. I follow most all the groups and even Mano. It makes it hard to enjoy and think about the real criticisms!
stole_away 21st-Aug-2012 08:02 am (UTC)
the only ppl i recognize in MM are reina & sayumi hmm
taylorniw 21st-Aug-2012 02:48 pm (UTC)
9th and 10th gen are worth getting to know. A few of them have the potential to be really good singers and there's also some great personalities.
